Cheapest price I've seen, although you need some QFF points. Delivery is $8.

These have a few extra features - better noise cancelling, aptX, immersion sound. They cost a lot more than the SE model though.
I use mine mostly at work in an open plan office and for work trips so they are tax deductible. If they weren't I would probably get the SE model.
My QC35s are 10 years old and still going strong so you do get value out of them.
Thanks! I will go for se then. btw, if your work has bose EPP, ultra is slightly cheaper there ~$486.
Just did some research and it's actually hard to find the differences between models.
The SE is exactly the same as the older QC45 model except with a soft carrying case instead of a hard one. So any reviews of the QC45s should apply to the SEs. I remember the big knock on the QC45s is that the ANC doesn't deal well with wind if you wear them outside.
The new QC model is basically a slightly upgraded version of the QC45s. It has wind block mode to deal with the wind problem. Apparently that's about it.
The new QC Ultra model has a slightly different design from the new QCs and several additional features. Slightly better ANC. Google fast pair which is useful if you have an Android phone. Aptx which should make for better sound quality and lower latency if you are using an Android phone. Immersive mode. Head detection puts them into sleep mode when you take them off.
So based on current pricing the SE model is definitely the value buy right now at around $280. The QC Ultra model offers some benefits, especially if you have an Android phone but the price is a big premium. The regular QC model seems pretty pointless as long as the SE model is so much cheaper.
@lionelhutz: Thanks for the good insights!
What is the qantas point worth these days?
Well it depends what you use it on but in the Qantas Marketplace you need about 5,000 points for a $25 Woolies gift card. So that's about $10 worth of points. Points are worth more if you spend them on flights but just a matter of whether you will ever use them.
Thanks, thinking of returning my PM'ed JB unit and grab this instead, just using my Qantas points.
Points club plus brings this down further 10% off
Sony or bowers are better though
Looks like OOS.
Seems to be back in stock, just ordered a pair. Works with points club discount and current 6 points per $1 spent so got it for $484 + net positive 1000 points.
this also stacks with an Amex targeted offer - if you spend $500 or more at Qantas (including the marketplace) you get $75 back - in hindsight I should have probably done this an saved my points elsewhere
How does did compare vs se or 45?
