Keep Boost Number for Longer

Hi all,
I bought one of those monthly boost sims where the cashback is higher than the purchase price.
I like the mobile number issued to me, so i was wondering how can I extend this number in the cheapest way possible?
I've activated the number in August and can still receive SMSs.
I've tried porting over to the $10 Amaysim 365 sim but it has been over 1 week since I've started the portover process, and it still hasnt ported over yet.

Edit - Turns out i haven't verified my ID which cannot be found logging on the site or app.
App has chat functionality and I had to email through my ID.
Once verified, port over was quick

    Recharging your prepaid plan or porting out to different a long life SIM plan is really the only way to keep that number you like.

    However according to ACMA https://www.acma.gov.au/reclaim-your-phone-number-telco

    Telcos generally hold your number in quarantine for half year even if your service has expired.

    Usually telcos hold numbers in quarantine for a minimum of 6 months (12 months if the service was disconnected due to nuisance calls).

    According to another ozbargainer: Amaysim numbers don't lapse until 12 months after a plan is expired, so going with amaysim is probably the cheapest way of keeping your lucky mobile number.

    • Do you have an idea how long Boost mobile would keep a number for if out of charge.

      • I heard 5 to 6 months.

    If you've started the porting process with Amaysim then I don't think you should start another one. Also if it's been 1 week & they can't resolve it then you might have to file a complaint with the TIO.
