  • is there a list of eligible SSDs ?

  • No matter what I do, I get 20% off of the ssd but no change to the screen price

  • Finally got it to work. $1419.29 for the screen

  • It is the 1st time I add a comment but really wanted to thank you @Kazusa !!! I was planning on purchasing the G9 OLED . You are a life saver saved so much !! Thank you again :)

  • SSDs are out of stock. Cannot get the maximum discount anymore.

    • You can still get, although ~$120 more expensive, 1TB 990 Pro with Heatsink

      • Not worth it. This deal should be expired.

        • Still $1720, or $280 less than the previous lows

          • @Reddy Cool: Lol that's rubbish. I'd rather just buy it for $1599 without the stupid overpriced SSD.

            • @SvcKpc: That’s what I paid added ssd to cart used code removed ssd price came to 1599 and bit the bullet.

              • @Believ3r: Well I can't really stomach doing that knowing I could've paid $1494 + get a free 500GB 980 Pro.

                • @SvcKpc: I was literally going to pull the plug at 2k just the other day so it’s still a good buy

I mean from what other commenters have mentioned, can always return the additional ssd for free? Extra hoops but still attainable to a degree?

    • Thats what i am doing. And if that doesnt work i paid $50 more than without the ssd… And i can always resell it so it wld be further discount all up anyway

      • It won't work.

As for re-selling it, you honestly won't get that much more than the additional cost of adding it to your cart. Everyone gets bargain prices for SSDs on Amazon these days, you won't find many people buying them on ebay.

        • Thanks for heads up, this is a concern.

I had to return an unopened item before and it was very easy, but yes it wasnt an ssd.

Going to ask people here if they actually returned an ssd before.

    • can always return the additional ssd for free?

      No, you cannot.

      https://www.samsung.com/au/estore/static/link_mindpolicy_p/

Change of mind returns apply for mobile products only. You will not be able to return the 990 Pro SSD.

      • Just to confirm, my 990 pro ssd was returned and i got a full refund for it. Samsung organised the auspost shipping label i used to return.

Didnt have to argue or anything. All organised through chat.

        • Can you share the chat or email? They refuse to accept mine. Thanks!

          • @JaeTee: I used the Samsung Shop app to chat, believe I used the "order" section. It always errored when I tried to save transcript.

But i did take some pics. I asked if I could have the SSD cancelled the day after I made the order, but they said they can't stop it at that point, but said to contact once it arrives. The SSD arrived first and I went to do the return, they said wait for entire order.

Seems I dont have pics of final chat, but I said something like "I requested 1 item to be removed from my order that wasn't required before it shipped, but was told it couldn't be stopped, so was advised to contact and have it returned unopened/sealed"

Finally got the code via email and was able to get the monitor for $1419 bundled with the ssd below.

    Portable SSD T7 500GB
    Gray, 500 GB
    MU-PC500T/WW

    Thanks OP and everyone

    • Portable SSD T7 500GB

      Doesn't work for me.

    • I got it for the same price, but I was a bit confused about the 4th discount other people were talking about. I Just decided to skip it as I had an SSD go out of stock while in my cart trying to figure it out. And I'm happy enough with the $1419 for the monitor once I return the SSD.

      • This is from the newsletter sign up for new email addresses. But even the link to that no longer works. So I just skipped it, for the sake of an extra $50 off (potentially $25 if you return the SSD).

      • And I'm happy enough with the $1419 for the monitor once I return the SSD

You won't be returning the SSD.

        https://order-help.us.samsung.com/hc/en-us/articles/36005702…
"If your order came with promotional products, all items must be returned for a full refund. Any missing promotional items will have their value deducted from the final refunded amount."

        • From my understanding, SSD is refundable, and refund amount is not full but the promotional value of the SSD, which is what we expect, correct?

          • @Mandalorians: Your understanding is wrong, I just gave you a link explaining the refund policy. I even confirmed with the agent, SSDs are not eligible for change of mind returns, period.

            • @SvcKpc: Oh well Gumtree it is then, still happy with the price overall even if I have to sell it for a bit of a loss.

        • +2

If Samsung refuses the return can always return it to Amex if you paid with Amex

        • I have returned storage devices before when purchased with bundle deals.. they still refund. Can confirm

          • @XedeX: I have just tried and they sent me the return policy. It now only covers return of Mobile devices and not SSD. Was there a way you could return yours?

      • Note that Amex refund is handled by CHUBB. It's so god damn annoying like 10+ emails. And you have to pay the postage to ship it to them ($15 lost). The whole entire process took 1 month for my switch lite to be refunded.

I have Amex Plat card btw, so no priority service at all.

  • Why is the deal “expired”?

    • Prolly expired to the actual 500Gb 980 Pro SSD bundle is what I think.

    • Because there are no more 500GB NVMe drives in stock. This was critical to getting the deal.

  • I just went through checkout and got the monitor for $1419 but did the 1TB T7 Shield for the SSD - total was $1554. Still a banger deal and cheaper than NOT including the SSD @$1599

    • This is the next best thing you can do. The price for a T7 Shield actually seems to be decent, unlike the 990 Pro 1TB w/ Heatsink or the regular T7 500GB.

  • Just had a chat with Samsung Agent:

Apologies as we don't have any 10% loyalty discount here on our Online store. Perhaps you might consider downloading our Shop App, and get 10% off for your first purchase. You can download it on Google Play.

    • lol you got lied to

      • Do I just chat with another sale rep?

        • You can try if you like.
Wouldn't bother if you're doing this from an iOS device.

        • Make sure you are going through the 'Order' chat rather than 'Product & Shopping' chat.

          • @Stanvx: Postsale Agents Unavailable.
            Talk to us 9AM to 6PM | Mon-Fri

  • Now the black Shield 1TB SSD is out of stock. It's well and truly over now.

    • What about Portable SSD T7 500GB @ $149.00?

      • Literal garbage value LOL.
The rugged 1TB sells for $200 new on ebay and was only $160 in the deal. The 500GB non-rugged won't even get you $90 on ebay.

        • The 1TB shield is at Officeworks for $98. With this deal it's $135.20. So, it is still inflated similar to the 500Gb T7. To me, it's really to get the $1419 price for the monitor, as you are still paying $37-40 more depending on which you choose between the 2. I went for the cheaper option myself 😊

  • Education discount doesn't work with APP 10% off right?

    • 10% loyalty discount not working.

  • Anyone able to recommend a decent monitor arm for this?

Looks like the Ergotron – HX was a good recommendation for the Odyssey G9 Evo due to its weight. In this case the OLED model is much lighter at 9.2 kg so I was thinking the Ergotron – LX would be more suitable. https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07Q8TJ2KL/

    • The more expensive Amazon basics arms are rebranded ergotrons, so those should work if you’re budget conscious

      • Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. Looks like the price difference isn't much considering the Ergotron - LX is currently on sale so I'd prefer the long warranty.

I'm not totally budget conscious if the extra money will get a more suitable and sturdier product, just seems the Ergotron - HX wouldn't actually be adjustable enough as it recommends between 12.7 to 19.1kg.

  • so this deal is over? i tried to add various SSDs but its not showing a discount

    • +1

Should still be valid - just gotta find the right SSDs that are part of the promotion - took me a bit to find the T7 Shield as being eligible which saved me about an extra $50 than not including it. All the eligible Cheap SSDs would be out of stock now though so waiting longer will mean less of a discount on the total price - regardless, this method should still work - just at slightly higher prices than that of OP.

  • +1

Good deal but what's the point of such a wide monitor? Only some games support it, and if you're doing productivity you'll end up getting burn-in in a couple months with no warranty unlike dell?

  • Does this monitor work with usbc only as a display for a laptop? (no hdmi and no dp)

or does the usbc hub only act as a power/device ports?

  • Is the SSD promotion no longer working?

Have added heaps but they don't appear to be adding an additional 10% off :(

    • Oh I think they made it ineligible. If I add the g8 I get the 10% off :(

  • The monitor is out of stock! I am disappointed as I saw this deal and didn't jump on it immediately.

Anyone know, from experience, if they will have more stock before the discount ends?

    • No buy button, it says 'PRE-ORDER:Ships 02/02/2024' though.

  • was anyone able to do a return on the SSD?

    • Have just tried and Samsung has advised that their return policy does NOT cover SSD's. They only accept returns for Mobiles. Not sure if anyone else has been successful?

      • It was in comments earlier. Its confirmed that you cannot return ssds. They explicitly state what is a returnable product

        https://www.samsung.com/au/estore/static/link_mindpolicy_p/

        • Was just trying, XeDeX commented earlier that he has returned a storage device in the past.

      • Idk, I just returned mine to Amex

        • Same here

  • Monitor arrived today, half the screen is very noticeably darker than the other half. Annoyingly, Samsung won't discuss remedy options without an onsite technician verifying the fault even with the photos. :(
