Norico Tapware Good or Bad?

Hi OzBargainers, I am building a new home in Western Sydney.

My home builder has offered me Norico tapware. I believe it is chinese.
Here is the website:

https://www.norico.com.au/home

Anyone has good experience with Norico? How is Norico compared to Phoenix tapware?

Sounds like just another fancy name for a builders line of tapware.*

Never heard of the brand. Sounds like a cheap option to me. Where is it made? Does it meet Australian standards? Does it have brass or plastic innards?

Edit - had a look on their website, some of their stuff ain't cheap. If I was paying $400 for a tap, I would be looking at other brands that offer better, long term Australian support and service.

  • What's a builder?

  • "Luxury Premium European Tapware" it says on their website. Europeans were using taps before Australia even had plumbing, for what it's worth.

  • We just recently had Norico installed for our bathroom fitout. It’s…..ok…..aesthetically it looks decent, but physical quality I think is… mmmm… less than the price they ask for it. Better than IKEA quality but no where near “brand name” quality. Slightly higher quality builders quality maybe. Better than anything I saw at Bunnings.

Various reasons forced us into Norico or Fienza. I’m not “unhappy” with it but I feel like I’m potentially going to be replacing it in 5 years time.

Never heard of Phoenix (or Norico before I got it)

It’s fine. You can always replace it down the track.

    • Have you got any Fienza tapware? Do you recommend it?

Currently exploring Fienza GunMetal or Brush Nickel for my new build

Thank you all for the comments. Home builders get 60% off on the original Norico price. Norico products come with 12 month warranty compared to some of the other brands (Dorf, Caroma and Pheonix) which give 5 to 10 years.

    • Well, if they pass on the 60% off it’s probably worth it. I sure didn’t get 60% off 😞.

  • Depends on the builder and connections. Replacement of these at the later stage can be expensive.
