Is It OK to Buy Reolink Security System from eBay Third Party in Australia. Price Is $300 Cheaper than The Offical Website

I have been waiting to buy the Reolink RLK16-1200D8-A when there is an offer.

I have finally seen an offer on eBay from a third-party AU seller. After the discount codes, the price comes down to $300 cheaper (AU $1,539.99 after discount codes) than the official website.

I am unsure if it is OK to buy these from a non-reolink seller.

Please share your thoughts.

Thank you.

It's probably fine. Check the AliExpress store for it too, Reolink often runs sales there.

Note that for Reolink products, when you buy a kit the cameras cannot be used separately/independently from the NVR (they have a different registration code which will not allow them to be registered in the app.)

    • Thanks, but Aliexpress don't have this model. Been checking it as well. This is their latest 12MP one.

It's not illegal, but if you have a warranty issue in 6 months time with it and the seller has disappeared, you're SOL. Your call if that's worth the $300 saving risk.

    • Thank you. That's exactly my concern too. I was just hoping to see if anyone had bought from other third-parties, could provide their experience.

Careful you read the model numbers/revision correctly. Some of the slightly older stock has the same/very similar model number but does not include the person/vehicle detection capability of the newest revisions.

  • Thanks everyone for your replies. I've made the decision to purchase it directly from the Reolink website. It seems they'll have some special offers available on this model soon.

  • Hi guys, a bit late to this thread, but just confirming is this https://www.ebay.com.au/str/reolinkaushop the official Reolink Ebay store? Because it looks very legit but then there's another one called reolink-security that also looks legit.

    • I doubt if there are genuine Reolink stores. There are quite a few stores with 'Reolink'. I looked at their email addresses, they don't have @reolink.com. So, I took advice from above oz bargainers, waiting to buy directly from the Reolink website when they go on special.

      • Hmmm where do you check their email addresses? This seller has a "Direct from Reolink" ebay badge on their listings, not sure if that means much. Anyway I took the risk as only getting two cameras, fingers crossed there's no warranty issues.

        • I looked at the bottom of the item description of the camera I was thinking of buying. Which camera did you get? do you already have Reolink system/NVR?

          • @Sval: Ahhh thanks I didn't see the email addresses until you mentioned where it is - so my one has [email protected]. The "Direct from Reolink" ebay badge is pretty misleading - maybe it just means they are an authorised reseller.

It's my first purchases for Reolink system - just got two Argus 3 Pro with solar panels. Was about 25% cheaper than official site
