Hi,
I don't have room for the subwoofer and 2 satellites - but would like to buy the soundbar alone - is this possible under a different model number? What would your suggestions be? Planning to pair this with a S90C.
Thanks!

good point!
Also helps with resale. You'll struggle to find a buyer who just wants the bar. Check this review if you haven't seen already: https://youtu.be/xvZXlQs-l_U
thanks for the advice mate, much appreciated. can stick the satellites in a storage cage, and will try to find room for the sub.
Do you think the sub can sit in the TV cabinet? or does it have to be in a certain place?
I don't have powerpoints behind my sofa which is why I can't use the satellites…
@apcheese: Soundbar subs are tuned to deliver mid-bass, so work better being at the front of your room with the soundbar. They work best on the floor, otherwise may resonate the sides of your TV cabinet. If you do a sound test with the sub placed (temporarily) on the floor in front of your TV cabinet I reckon you'll find a way to accommodate it.
@sumyungguy: thank you. i will have around 50cm on each side of my tv cabinet remaining - and noticed the dimensions of the subwoofer are 220.0 x 413.0 x 410.0 mm - and i think it's the 22cm dimension that is the "width" as I believe that it can face the opposite direction of the tv cabinet to 'the side' so def room for it!
@apcheese: The first 8 minutes of Bladerunner 2049 is one of my favourite Atmos & sub tests.
@sumyungguy: Thanks mate!
Consider the Sonos Arc or something instead without any add ons imo. Or Beam if you want cheaper.
Q800c if you are after a Samsung
Is it the exact same soundbar and sub?
Slightly under but the best in Samsung range without rear speakers.
Your other option is to buy 990c but sell speakers
5.1.2 vs 11.1.4; Q990C soundbar includes extra drivers, bar and sub are slightly bigger and weigh more, two HDMI in vs one.
Half of those channels are coming from rear speakers.
Just for reference, I bought an S930B (which is very similar to the one you're looking at) and did the same, didn't connect the sub and rear speakers - it sounded like shit.
They're designed to work (ie frequency and staging) with all the bits included. Imo if you're not cool with the rear speakers and sub, find a model that doesn't include them because it'll sound better
Just to add, I have the older (but basically the same from what I've read) Q950T set, paired with Sony's A95K (it has that 'screen is a speaker' thing).
On the odd occasion that the speakers don't sync, the TV speakers sound better than just the soundbar alone.
Samsung does have some S series sound bars without subs, which I am guessing would sound better than using one designed for a sub without it.
Buy a JBL. JBL is owned by, Harmon Kardon which is owned by…………….Samsung.
Why not store them for when you may have space in the future? The sub makes a massive difference if you like watching TV & movies.
