50% off e*thirteen Mountain Bike Tyres + Shipping @ Dirt Works

80

Dirtworks have got 50% off all of their E*Thirteen MTB tyres at the moment.

Reviews are generally quite positive on the new compounds, and the new casings. Tyres made by Vee in Thailand I believe.

I ordered a couple. I paid $130 for a Grappler and an All-Terrain, including shipping.

By contrast, a Maxxis Dissector in Exo Plus (roughly equivalent to the All-Terain) from MTB Direct is $115.

Obviously the Maxxis is a known quantity and these aren't, but there's lots of positive reviews out there so giving them a chance.

Also of interest, they've got a couple of Cane Creek shocks half price as well, worth looking at if you need something in that area.

  • Mmm, pretty damn cheap.

I've recently gotten back on the bike after leaving it hanging on the wall for the last 5 years and the rubber on it is understandably in pretty bad shape. Ripped the first shoulder blocks off the front tyre on the weekend, and the cracks suggest it won't be long til more of them follow haha.

Anyone here actually ridden the new e13 rubber? I'm coming from a Magic Mary / Rock Razor combo for typical sydney trails, like the combo of a secure front tyre and something a bit faster and looser out back.

    • Would only think Maxxis Trail/DH flavours would have similar stick to a Magic Mary.

Doubt e13 will be similar compound at this price point.

    • Ive been using on a full ebike - casings are quite firm, to the point I wasnt using an insert on the front wheel. Ive used various compounds and found they wear pretty quick. Vs DHRII I found better edge grip too. Been very happy with value for money.

    • Reviews I've read say the Mopo compound is SUPER sticky, but won't last, think similar to Maxxis maxgripp. I ordered one of them for the front.

I ordered the "compound" compound for the rear, it's sticky, but hard wearing (apparently). They have an endurance compound that will last even better but is a lot firmer.

According to the reviews the DH casing is very stiff, probably only feels good at Mach 10 on a DH bike so I ordered the enduro casing instead. I guess I'll find out if it's any good!

  • Trs+ hoops for $55 also are good value too, unfortunately only come in 27.5 though. Really just need the sl chainrings to go half price

  • Will just add this for future similar deals.

The 29er tyres I ordered look very similar to my previous Maxxis Aggressor though slightly deeper edge tread by ~1mm.

One of the most difficult beads I've ever had to seat!!
My thumbs are cooked and I've done 4+ tyres for my various bikes in the past 6 months.
These even take the cake over a snakeskin I reckon.

They are tubeless compatible (supposedly) which is pretty awesome for the price, but I really hope they are based on the bead alone because I would be crying if I got a flat on these with tubes.

Similar to Daniel, I'm testing a MOPO front and Endurance back, don't think the compound version was available in the size I ordered.

  • I haven't fitted mine yet, but they look good. They definitely feel sturdy, nice aggressive tread and a heavy sidewall, I don't think I'll be getting a puncture with them. Might wait for a hot sunny day to warm things up before I put the tyre on the rim!
