I was at JB yesterday and tried the Bose QuietComfort Ultra headphones and was amazed by the spatial audio. Unfortunately they didn't have AirPods Max on display to compare, nor many other top-tier headphones for other brands.
Keen to hear what everyone thinks are the headphones of choice for 2023, and why?

Personally I think Dyson didn't go far enough, I want an entire airconditioned helmet to wear.
Just don't make it look cool like a motorbike helmet, it has to look like I've never interacted with the human race before. Maybe a huge nose cone or something.

First decide if you want big headphones or earbuds. Very different sound and usability, e.g. at my desk I'm always in headphones, moving around/exercising it has to be buds.

You can detach the air purifier visor on the Dyson Zone — if listening at home, for example. They are an audiophile’s dream, with crisp lower-upper mids, soul-moving lower-than-low lows, and sparking-fresh minty highs. Not to mention the dynamic, horizon-nudging soundstage.
But go outside in Australia’s disgusting city air, and the visor delivers the best mainstream one could ever hope to suck into their lungs. It’s the clear winner that anyone who’s right would acknowledge grudgingly

I tried the Dyson's on yesterday, but there were sound quality issues on the right side - so they would be well down the list for me.

If you have Apple devices may as well get AirPods Max imo. Has some quality of life features you'll appreciate. And the pink looks badass. Plus Apple Music is def invested in Spatial Audio.
