Samsung TV + Sound System → Your Take

Greetings!

I have my sight set on the 75" QN85C Neo QLED 4K and the HW-Q930C from Samsung as a package.
I can get them for $4213($3464+$749) from Samsung EPP site. I just want to hear from the more informed and aware OzBargainers before I pull the trigger.

Am I overlooking any inconspicuous pitfalls? Should I wait a little longer to see if the price falls any further as we approach the year end with a few more 'Sale' days to go? Are there any better TV+Soundbar combos from other makers around this price point(4k)?
Anything else that may cross your mind as cautionary/helpful?

Appreciate any inputs! Many thanks.

TV has been cheaper than that recently and the soundbar is on sale for $750 until the end of the year, so I'd hold off. Retail for the TV is $3,499.

I've been looking at the 75" QN85C and the cheapest was around $2800 a few months ago at JB Hi-Fi.

You'd be better off buying the Q930C first and look for another TV or wait for the QN85C to go down in price.

Soundbar is at a very good price, but some reckon it might drop to 600 so that's a risk/luck you can play with. But I personally think 50% discount is very good. Max discount will be 60% towards the runout season.

With TV depends, I was able to score a QN900B for $3400 last month, wasn't bothered by the B series as there was hardly any difference.

  • Spending $4k in 2023 is insane IMO

Well, TV is $3464, but still expensive for a non-OLED TV.

Also note that Rtings is US based, and the Hisense TV's the US get is vastly superior to what we get. Just saying so people don't get duped reading the rave reviews for the Hisense TV's and then buying one here expecting the same experience.

    • Kind of agree but not like I have much control on it.

We spent $1200 on a 50 inch Hisense unit in 2014 which turned into just a very big nice display unit once the hardware was not enough to get the software updates. A Google Chromecast @$39 extended it's usability by 4-5 years. So, really the TV on its own was obsolete within 4 years.

Now that we are upgrading, I don't want to touch Hisense or TCL. Nor will I touch the top shelf with all the bells and whistles. I just want forget about TV for another 8-10 years. Having been out of TV market for few years, I am taking(swallowing) the retail prices on their face value and holding out for a decent bargain in one of these sale events.

Also, $4k is for TV +sound system and I will be happy if I can score a combo at about $3.5k.

  • I'd do similar but opt for the s90c. Is considered far better tech

  • Thank you all for the inputs. I will hold for now!

  • Any good deals on this yet? I'm also on the lookout for a 75 or 85 inch Samsung TV at least, or a combo with a Samsung sound bar (Q990B/C?)
