Different from the 12 days of BlackWolf deals. These packs on sale are a good deal being called out separately

Suitable for summer hiking or backpacking trips. It would be extremely hard to find a pack for $80 (or $70 with the $10 off) anywhere else. The only other place would be Kmart which is probably not comparable.

Use code WOLFPACK for an additional $10 off (invalid coupon — Mod)

  • Awesome deals, would buy if I didn't already have one

  • These are a bit on the heavy side for multiday hiking. If you are serious about getting into hiking, there are better options in the ultralight category obviously more $$$ e.g. Gossamer Gear, Osprey etc stuff.

    Good price otherwise.

    • What weight would you expect? What are other backpacks of this type that are lighter?

      • 60L Mariposa Gossamer Gear ~900gr
        65L Silverback GG 1KG

But as I said very expensive compared to the deal posted (like 5 times or more). But if you are serious about hiking, every weight saving commulatively counts. Generally advised to not hike with more than 20% of your body weight.

If you are just doing a dayhike only obviously 40L plus bags are overkill.

Thanks. These seem to be very lightweight indeed, but also no metal elements in the construction. I'm curious how's the weight distribution. In the rigid backpack models - like in this deal - you carry it on your hips. I wonder how it works in practice with the ones you listed. Perhaps you don't pack as much into those.

@pizzaguy: They have a metal internal frame. I just got back from a 2 nighter in Wilsons prom with 15KG in a 50L GG bag. Heavy items at the bottom with additional support by the hip belts. Was comfortable throughout the 45KM I did.

            • @Lucille Bluth: I see, the frame is mentioned in the subheader, but nowhere else, incl. specs and materials. Nice lightweight backpacks from GG then.

thanks to the frequent 100% pizza hut cashbacks and maccas month, not an issue at the moment

  • Going to keep my eye on this one. Need something to replace my Mountain Design Duffle that I've been using the last month as using it in backpack form is really uncomfortable as the straps dig in under the armpits when with weight. Wonder how this'll go on the back on a motorcycle though as my helmet has a rear spoiler and this might be a little tall. Just need it for groceries and stuff.

It should work with either Tarn bag if you don't fill it to the top and pull the straps to keep it down. The smaller one is only 60cm high at its max.

      • Thanks for the reply!

I had to double check but my MD duffle is the 50L and it's supposed to be 60 high. So the Tarns are fine but the Maikoh maybe a little tall.

Tarn 75 does seem sweet though! Hopefully they're a lot more comfortable! Thanks OP, will probably snap one up!
