Well…
Our new rental had a bit of a dog smell in the carpets, so we got a couple of these. They definitely removed some of the smell of the place. Not running them for a while had the smell return.Then our dogs came out of quarantine and moved into the place. Now, the real proof that the air purifier captures smells is that the air purifier was "marked" quite a few times…
Using a charcoal bbq a few meters from the living room where one of them stands sees it going into overdrive almost instantly and the house no longer has that smokey smell the next day as it used to before we got the air purifiers.
Except for this, we sometimes have a chemical smell outside in the neighbourhood we live it, but I never smell it inside the house. I also don't have allergies when I spend lots of time inside as I sometimes have when spending a lot of time outside.
They don't do much for dust though, judging by how little comes out when I vacuum the filter and the fact that dust still accumulates on the shelves in the room.
We have a couple of the Breville ones, not this model.

Because it's only removing the airborne scent not the source of the problem, which is your carpets.

Does not compute. If it can get rid of aroma particles as you claim, then it will surely get dust particles because they are larger.
In any case, that isn't anything about purifying the air, whatever that is. Getting rid of a smell doesn't mean it's purified. I can just as easily get rid of the source of the smell and the same outcome is achieved.
@coffeeinmyveins: I know.
My story is to demonstrate that if there is a smell in the room, it can get rid of it. Getting rid of the source is obviously better, but this is a thread about an air purifier, not the best way to remove smells.
I'm just telling about my experiences. It reduces dust in a room (some is caught in the filter) but I can say by how much. Definitely not all of it. The dust that ends up on the shelves probably never make it to the purifier.
Why post it if you think it's not a deal?
Thanks OP, I've been in the market for a new router
Only if it actually works. Do these things even do anything?
