TP-Link Tapo P110 Smart Plug with Energy Monitoring 2-Pack $35 in-Store Only @ Bunnings

170

Similar to the previous deals. The Tapo P110 Smart Plug with Energy Monitoring 2-Pack is on sale at Bunnings for $35 ($17.50 each). 50c more than previous deals but still not a bad price. It's not listed on the website and seems to be in stores only. I've been to a few stores and they all have them. They're at the front of the store in the smart home section, not in electrical.

The P100 (no power monitoring) is also still available for $15 each (single pack)

Check the box to make sure the plug is in there before you leave the store, or at least that the sticker/seal is still intact.

I bought a Hue motion sensor from Bunnings the other week. Thought it was a good buy until I opened it up at home and found it empty. Didn’t notice the seal was ripped.

  • Really hoping the P110M comes out soon

  • Are these any good or alternative better and cheaper brands ?

    • I quite like the EKO ones for $15 at Big W https://www.bigw.com.au/product/eko-wifi-power-plug-with-ene…

      • Are these compatible with Tuya?

        • +2

Yeah, compatible with any other software like Tuya which is a nice standard lots of Chinese stuff is Tuya and is widely supported. Also how granular is the energy monitoring please? I only want to monitor energy consumption at this point.

@dman1: Yeah I use the EKO ones with Tuya Smart app.. Shows consumption to 2 decimal places. I use one to add some timer smarts for my car charger.

Strangely, these don't appear on the Bunnings website at all. I was there this week looking for the single packs at $18 each, and they couldn't find them, but I saw these 2-packs behind the service desk counter and bought 3 packs.

At this stage I am just using to monitor power usage on a few things and they are working great. They took a couple of minutes each to set up and are working well. One box needed a firmware update and the others were up to date. The app is easy to use so far although I haven't created any schedules yet.

    • Damn I should have read you post first. Sorry.

  • I’ve been running a P110 on some charging cables for two weeks, waiting for a Tapo base station to turn up as I wanted to register them all through the TP Link Tapo base station rather than direct to my WiFi. Both probably eork though I know some routers start getting overloaded if you have to many concurrent wireless devices, especially in areas where all the channels are pretty full like an multi-level apartment, or some new build areas where block sizes are small.

No problems with it so far and that is Amazon stock. I now have a total of six from Amazon where I paid either $16.50 or $17.50 - four at the $16.50 price.

I know people told me that the P110 were prone to cutting out. I’m going to be putting them on my HT and all my PC gear I actually need one more but that’s enough to get me started.

Bunnings do Marketplace deals now, but they generally keep reasonable stock of HA gear - it’s usually all together on a stand down the front of the store but it will probably vary store to store. If it does give you an Aisle number then they probably don’t have them in stock, but it’s always worth asking, especially at special orders or service desk.

    • The TP-Link mesh routers let you create a dedicated SSID for IoT devices to prevent overloading

      • Tapo H200 Smart Hub - is that the same as the Mesh Routers please?

      • Or are you talking about the real TP-Link Mesh Routers like the Deco X20 1800, the AX3000 or the AX3600 later two being WiFi 6. Since the H200 Smart Hubs have WiFi and Ethernet.

        • I'm referring to the Deco range

  • I was going to wait and get it with a Tapo D230S1 Door Bell Camera, but figured it couldn’t hurt to have more than one Smart H200 hub, but I haven’t really read which devices go together. The H200 takes the 256GB MicroSD cards and can record from multiple cameras, not just the Tapo D230S1 Doorbell Camera. Alas it was on discount at AMZN for four weeks at $239, all the prices of the camera except maybe one place have returned to $299 for the camera and a H200 Smart Hub (I think). I bought a separate bell as well, I just didn’t have enough for the Camera Hub Combo.

Any advice would be appreciated please.

  • 2 pack of P110 scanned at $45 (Gladesville, NSW) yesterday.

    • I'm seeing it as $45 in the Port Melbourne store (VIC) too

      • I found some single packs (Chatswood, NSW) at $17.87. Price expires tomorrow (17/11).

  • Down to $17 at Amazon for anyone following that hasn't purchased.
