Borderlands 2 from OzGameshop

Hey guys I pre-ordered Borderlands 2 vault hunter edition from OzGameshop back in early July this year. I have some friends that pre-ordered from OzGameshop in August after I recommended it to them. I have bought games from OzGameshop previously but have never pre-ordered before. On 19 September both my friends and I received e-mails saying our orders had been despatched.

They received theirs Tuesday, 25 September and I am yet to receive mine (as of 2 October). Their website says to allow up to 12 working days for delivery which I think is crap because my friends and I live in the same suburb and I ordered before them (I know order date doesn't make a difference but it still irks me) yet they get theirs and I don't. We were supposed to have been LANing for the October long weekend but that idea was thrown out the window.

I cannot proceed to e-mail them either because it has only been 14 days (or "10" working days).

Anyway I was just wanted to let off steam and ask if anyone else is in the same boat?

  • Ordered and dispatched both on 20th September. I still haven't received mine when I usually get it before a full week. Only been 8 working days so far.

  • I stopped preordering from both Ozgameshop and Zavvi/thehut about a year ago. I just found that generally the games took about a month after I got the dispatch notice (this was for Batman, Saints Row 3, Duke Forever and a couple of others I forget). I'm happy to wait 2 weeks but 1 month was ridiculous and it got to the point where that was the norm. No idea if it's still the same though. Non-preorders I find I get 2 weeks after dispatch so no idea what the problem was.

    These days I preorder with Mariio128 and order non-preorders through the others. Been working out quite well.

  • I only ordered from them because GMG ran out of preorder keys. I wanted the bonuses.

    I should have really ordered from GMG much earlier with the 25% off but spent too much time thinking about it.

  • Well morphio I still haven't received mine either. I really don't understand why though because my local friends and I all received e-mails on 19th September saying our orders had shipped yet I am the only one who doesn't have the game.

    I have contacted OzGameShop support and they told me it can take between 4-12 working days however if you do not hear by the 25th working day then they can proceed to either send a replacement or refund my money. I think today was the twelfth working day and it didn't arrive so I guess I must wait until the 20th October before they do something about it.

    I hate paying big money for games and usually wait for bargains when a game is a few months or more old. The game was released over 2 weeks ago which may sound stupid to someone else however I have already seen/read snippets about the game on the internet unintentionally or been told by others what happens. The game will not be fresh & exciting knowing that many others have finished the game yonks ago yet I still pay the high price for it.

    Because I ordered the special edition game if they turn around and say they've run out and will resend a standard copy I will say no because a retail disc that requires Steam and has no physical bonuses is useless to me and more expensive.

    In hindsight, I should have said screw the $20 bobblehead and just bought from GMG. I really don't think I'll shop at this store anymore because their service has been pretty underwhelming and I remain angry.
