Or even 12". I have an old X260 and it is great as an easy traveler.

Thinkpad
Why?
Alternatives include Dell Latitude 7 series. Some of the 5 series I think come close. Don't tough the 3s.
I only seek Thinkpad , thank you
Is there a reason why? Just curious if that's just personal preference or has something to do with your coding studies
Probably want to fit in on r/thinkpad. Like Mercedes its more than an product, it's a lifestyle.
In my case, and I'm NOT OP, I firstly consider Thinkpads because of how nice they are to type on.
@netjock: Good to know. Thanks
Why?

Refurb Thinkpads tend not to be 15-16 inch. Usually 14 (sometimes 13).
