2023 Asian TV Box (DTV) Suggestions

I made the same post over 5 years ago. Since then there's been tech advancements and I think overall just a far more competitive market.

Looking for suggestions from my favourite online community on what box to buy, and any insight into which major brand has more content for a particular language or region. Wife prefers Mandarin, parents prefer Canto, and I prefer watching 24hr Taiwanese news channels that endlessly talk about cats stuck in trees, traffic jams, pointless interviews of randoms and other riveting news.

Of course most important criteria is app selection, any experience and insights?

      Not sure why you got downvoted as it's a legit answer, but the reason I don't is it's too much bother for what many see as inferior app selection and therefore inferior content. For example, likely to need VPN to get around geoblocked content whereas the out-of-the-box solutions somehow do not have this issue.
