Help Me Identify This Electrical Connector

This electrical connector came out of a pool chlorinator cell, it's about 30mm long & 10mm at the base with a threaded inside.

NFI if they are a bespoke or brand specific (Therachlor) item, or if generic where to get replacements…it'll mean the difference between buying a replacement unit.

Appreciate the help.

What's wrong with it? The thread looks ok. The plug in part corrosion would probably clean up nicely with some 0000 steel wool. Not much else to go wrong with it.

    They look like thingimijigs

Ask at the service desk at Bunnings…

    • thingimijigs…

I'd say they look more like b-plugs for mice!

    • Waste of time when it comes to niche things, they rarely have good advice

Is it an electrical thing or a sacrificial anode?
Some sort of safety 'earthing' point?

It's this part of a pool salt chlorinator cell. They build up deposits over time and in my experience just need to be cleaned to get the electrons flowing freely again.

      • That's the one. One is split at the base and is leaking a little, which appears to be shorting it as the controller can't detect the cell. I cleaned them all up a while back and it was working a treat but has gone on the blink again.

Try a quality 2 part glue to rebuild up the base and finely sand to shape.

Try a pool shop for the part but I'm guessing they only sell the complete cell as that's where the money is for the manufacturer.

          • @MS Paint: I spoke to the distributor, who actually told me to buy a different cell altogether, but wasn't able to give a lead on replacement parts. I was hoping it was some sort of generic connector.

@Ham Dragon: Knowing the pool industry any generic part prob going to be very slightly different like having very slightly different threads just to really stitch ya up

              • @Jimothy Wongingtons: Any idea which shop sells these sort of things? Jaycar? It's really not my area of expertise!

@Ham Dragon: Sorry mate I did hunt around with the old google reverse search and a combo of different search terms but no good. Only thing close is a male to female m3 anti vibration screw… but that prob would go funny in the water I bet. (And idk if m3 is the size, maybe that’s more an m5 or something you have… and wouldn’t help if you have a bit that slips over the female part as these vibration screws are threaded )

@Jimothy Wongingtons: "Knowing the pool industry"
We've got manual ball valves to control spa jets, why are they opposite to 'all' other ball valves I've seen. Usually when the handle is in line with the pipe it means open, these are closed when handle is inline. Pool installer was surprised when I asked
