I was wondering if I can receive sms security codes on Amaysim while in the Philippines or do I need a roaming pack? Or would I be able to port to another carrier like Boost or Telstra and receive them?
Thanks.

Optus (and thus MVNOs like Amaysim) do not allow wifi calling from overseas IP addresses. There are messy ways around it (a VPN on the phone isn't going to work), but wifi calling isn't needed in OPs case.
Interesting!
OP, maybe consider porting to Boost while you're OS. Telstra allow international wifi calling
You won't need a roaming pack. I received SMS codes while in NZ on Amaysim without a roaming addon.
Does this mean it will be the same in the Philippines though?
Yes, PH is in the list of roaming countries https://www.amaysim.com.au/international/roaming#accordion-d…
Amaysim specifically is discussed in this thread: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/763686
If your phone supports wifi calling you should be able to send/receive texts too via wifi anywhere in the world.
You can test it by enabling plane mode and re-enabling just wifi. See if you can call/text.
