  • Hey @HamBoi69
I think you might be out a day as this Special starts on Wednesday 8 Nov at Coles :)

    375g bag unsalted peanuts
    1 tsp table salt

Throw it in the food processor, whizz it for a minute, add around 1/2 tsp peanut oil, whizz again. $3 jar of peanut butter whenever you feel like it.

      Yawn

    • +6

How much is a 375g bag of peanuts & a food processor though?

      • +2

How much is your car and the petrol to go to the store?

        • +1

Wait for Amazon to price match, get it delivered free with Prime.

        • You can walk to the store and get some exercise.

Or can grind the peanuts using mortar and pestle ;)

    • +14

For $0.75 I get it made for me. No mess. Convenience is a no brainer.

    • +5

If you are not worried about convenience, why are you cutting corners in your search for value. Buy seed peanuts and grow them yourself. 5 months of warm weather and away you go.

Practically free peanut butter, assuming you evaporate sea water instead of buying salt?

    • Think about the time needed to clean the food processor, especially peanut butter, still need to find a good clean jar and consistency of the chunky peanuts.

  • Still have some Mayvers Dark Roasted from the half price Woolies deal a couple of months ago; how do these compare?

    • +2

I found Pic's PB to be more dry and harder to spread especially towards the end of the jar (seems there's less oil). So for me I prefer Mayvers

    • On that same deal you would had seen the same question, as is on every other posted deal

    50% Australian Ingredients

Bega Simply Nuts is 100% Australian and taste freaking amazing. Why buy imported?

    • +2

Doesn't match Skippy's. Although not 100% nuts, it tastes better. I'm Borat. I'm American

    • +1

Key take being your 'taste freaking amazing'.
      Maybe to you?

Pic's and Mayvers are lightyears ahead, if you ask me.

Bega has always that rotten, mouldy lingering aftertaste.

    • +1

      Bega tastes like garbage.

      As does Mayver's.

Pic's is still the king of peanut butter even after reducing the percentage of Australian peanuts in their products to 50% back in 2021.

      • +1

        That then Fogg

      • @Gnostikos

Cause Bega stitched up Aussie Stock of peanuts.

  • Will Amazon offer the same or don't they do pics?

  • I bought this at Costco. Think it was like 1.5kg for $15 or so

    • +1

I’ve recently learned about this practice, where the major supermarkets Jack prices of products then put them on “sale”, repeat a couple times a month. I’ve adapted by just buying on sale because that’s the actual price. Coles ain’t selling this at a loss.

You mean every major bricks & mortar chain's standard operating procedure for the past 20 years, first pioneered by Hardly Normal?

Welcome to 'Straya. Land of the 50% off sale (with 70% pre-sale markup).
