Not negging, but why not use the default disk backup and restore in Windows 7+
You can backup the entire disk, it schedules automatic backups while the system is running
If you're perfectly happy using that then there's no need to look any further..
However, acronis does infinitely more than windows backup and is aimed at the power user..
I got the 2012 version 3 months ago when it was going for $19something discount. Nice program and walks over Windoze 7 own backup which is pathetically slow in comparison.
If you go to Acronis website, be sure to select USA as the region up top otherwise Aussie region pays an extra $9 or $10 :)
No doubt, this is a good deal compared to usual price.
However, I have been dubious on Acronis TI for a long time. It has a long and chequered history. Don't take my word for it - read the many reviews over the net (eg. at Acronis, Amazon, etc). There are many, many people that complain about the reliability of this product - and have given it a very low rating.
Your mileage may vary - buyer beware.
I would have recommended Norton Ghost in the past, but it also seems to be plagued with issues.
I'll vote this as a good deal, but please read the reviews before you buy.
Fair call if that's your experience. I've never had a problem with it - it saved my bacon a number of times.
My only 'complaint' (if you can call it that) is that all their support staff responses are written by people who's first language clearly isn't English. Kinda makes explaining (the couple of) technical problems I encountered, a bit difficult. Other than that, they were pretty quick to get back to me.
FWIW, the 'upgrade' price from TI2012 is the same - so I'll wait for a better deal. Thanks anyhow OP!
I agree with you DeWalt, which is why I didn't pull the trigger (been sitting on the fence for a while in regards to backup software), however for Acronis it's a great price for a very recently updated suite.
this is a great program and an excellent price.
i've used it since windows 7 appeared and i love it.
its time i went legal - maybe you should too.
