[NSW] Guinness Draught 440ml Cans - Case of 24 $62 (Was $91) In-Store @ BWS Riverstone

90

Rich and creamy. Distinctively black. Velvety in its finish. This iconic beer is defined by harmony. Sip after sip, sweet counters bitter as the malt arrives on cue to complement a base of roasted barley. Just as the unmistakable white head sits flush atop the dark beer, so do the flavours counter and combine perfectly. This is our greatest innovation. Truly unique. Perfectly balanced.

There are at least 15 cases of Guinness Draught Cans at BWS Riverstone. Deal is limited to in-store purchases. Only until stocks last. Deal happened due to overstocking. The cheapest deal I can find for the same product is $80-$85.
Cannot be ordered online. Exclusive to BWS Riverstone.

  • Good old Rivo.

  • Jeebus, I haven't bought any for a while. $91 normal price?? Crazy, but, unfortunately with the AUD so low and excise increasing twice a year, and inflation, I suppose it was inevitable

  • +2

    Price in title pls.

I don't believe the overstocked claim.
I'd be checking the best before date…. Not that it'll make much of a difference to the quality.

    • No they are on date. Check the cans or you can ask someone to check it for you. I don’t think they are allowed to sale out of date stock.

      • No they are on date

        What does that mean?

I don’t think they are allowed to sale out of date stock.

        There's two types,
Used-by which basically means it might make you sick/cause illness if consumed after that date, so be careful & don't sell. It's in things like dairy, meat, etc

Best before is a made-up date by the manufacturer because the quality can't be assured after that date. It won't hurt, injure, etc it might not taste as good, look different, feel different, etc it's things like beer, soft drinks, chips, bread, etc.

In Oz, beer tends to be after being packed, 6mth for craft beer, 9-12mths for traditional beer, and none for Coopers and others which leaves the yeast in. Euro beer often has 18mths.

And Liquorland & First Choice for example discount most products (they find) by 30% 2-7weeks from best before and 50% for the last 2 weeks and they have a lower limit for the last day or two (iirc it's $20/slab of beer, $7/6pack). You can only get that price in store.

This BWS "sale" looks a bit like the above, hence why I said check the date. (Not that Guinness would be affected by the best before date) It is possible that this particular store is getting rid of Guinness altogether, but usually they'd just let it run out and not restock.

    • Says BB date 22/02/2024 in the picture

  • -1

    Hardly a clearance price

    • -3

      Hardly drinkable either !

  • Deal happened due to overstocking.

15 available hardly seems like too much stock.

    • Its a lot for the store and for the price as well.

  • I enjoy a can of Guinness. Can't seem to get it in Perth WA at the moment for some reason. It's usually around $85 in Dan's here so this is a pretty good price.
