    AAA sold out.

  • i dont get all the fuss with these batteries, arnt they just rechargeable

    • they are cheaper than energizer and duracell, but are still of decent quality.
i have energizer and eneloops, and cant tell the difference between then on recharges…. and when you consider how many things around the house need batteries (my collection is constantly being used in wireless keyboard and mouse, xbox controller, tv remote, hifi remote media pc keyboard, kids toys etc), you really need quite a few packs of rechargables being rotated.

good cheap rechargables like the eneloops are good to own.

thanks op, just bought 2 packs of AAA.

i dont get all the fuss with these batteries, arnt they just rechargeable

No, unlike regular rechargeables they do not go flat just sitting in the drawer.

      • My regulars will go flat after 2-3 weeks in the drawer.

My eneloops still have a good amount of charge, months after charging.

    • I suggest you google on what a low self discharge battery is first

    • They keep their charge for months, instead of just weeks for normal rechargeable cells.

This means they are always ready, and they have fewer cycles, and therefore they last longer.

  • thanks,

    bought some AAA

  • just a reminder they take time to arrive, coming from HK. mine took a month on the last offer.

    • Mine arrived just under 2 weeks last time.

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH!
This deal came at exactly the right time!! Just bought 8 AAAs.

  • Ordered 4 packs of AA batteries, got a couple sets of AAA's when SS had them last on special. I believe they take a couple of weeks to come last time. Good deal, almost as good as DSE glitter packs with free postage!

    • Wow! I'm curious to know what you do with so many batteries!!

      • +8

You don't have kids, do you……

        • Fair enough then!

        • Yes, I know it all too well. There will be a toy that has lived at the bottom of the toybox for a year and a half, and when rediscovered it must be rendered working in under 2 minutes or the tears get turned on!

      • +1

Yeah lots of toys requiring yags of batteries!

      • +1

        tv remote 2 batts
        wireless xbox controller 2
        hifi remote 2
        wireless keyboard 3
        wireless mouse 2
        media pc remote 2
        media pc keyboard 2

thats 15 batteries already…. then you got the kids toys and a few spares to be able to rotate through whilst others charge, you're looking at approx 25 batteries at least.

        • +3

Why do you put rechargeable batteries into TV/HIFI/PC remotes? Cheap "heavy duty" batteries work 1-2 years in these devices.

        • Mouse and keyboard usually lasts a few months. Non-LCD driven AV Receivers a couple of years. Something like Logitech Harmony would last a few months.

        • I dont know how often you use those devices, but NO WAY cheap arse batteries will last me 1 year let alone 2.
I reckon I change batteries in most of those devices every 6 months or so.

Also, if you do happen to not use your remotes very much (sounds like it) I wouldnt risk having my remotes damaged by cheap leaking batteries over 2 years. The remotes arent cheap to replace if that happens mate.

Either way, rechargeables would be better option for you. Trust me.

  • Thanks! :)

  • Good deal. Just ordered some AAAs this time.

But beware if you need them soon, I ordered mine on the 28th of last month, dispatched on the 6th of this month, and arrived on the 27th.

Still a good deal if your not in a hurry.

  • Still waiting for my battery…. dispatched on the 6th Sept too….

  • Hi all, keen on getting a 4xAA. 2 questions.

1.) Which is better the Eneloops or Energizer? Enegizer is 5 dollars more, I guess I don't mind paying the difference if it performs better than the Eneloops.

    2) Where do I get a cheap but decent charger? Links appreciated.

    Thanks

    Owen

    • I got a mix of eneloopps and energizer… both perform as well as each other.
Go for the cheaper option imo, sales like this are good to take advantage of.

  • Ordered both AAA and AA.

  • Just wondering… if I leave AA eneloops in the standard charger (got it with 4 AAs from Dicksmith) overnight, would the damage be big? Just say if they were left charging for 5 extra hours or so.

    • +2

which means it's time to get the $15 battery charger from Aldi - I got one yesterday and have been testing it…pretty good.

      http://aldi.com.au/au/html/offers/2827_23395.htm?WT.mc_id=20…

      • Is that a 'smart' charger?

        • +1

Not sure how "smart" is it. But at least it will stop charging after detecting the charge is completed for each individual battery.

        • Thanks for the tip buddy - picked up two of these Aldi units last night.

Rated at 1A charging current theoretically means its as fast as the BC1000 - but for only $15 lol. Bargain!

Of course it does not have the fancy rate selection nor refresh features but I figure for the $40 odd bux I save I can afford to replace my eneloops if they ever begin to deteriorate.

  • Ah nice find… i needed extra AAA to power my LedLenser T7, Thrunite Ti and extra AAs for Thrunite T10 and Ultrafire flashlights.

    Cheers!

    • +1

Hi mate, just thought I would give you a little info to read about running the Ti on NiMh batteries.

      http://lygte-info.dk/review/Review%20ThruNite%20Ti%20UK.html

You can see that running it on NiMh (eneloop) its 31 lumens on high instead of 60 lumens but it will have double the run time.

You might want to use alkaline batteries instead, Varta from Bunnings are about $8 for 30 and Chevron from Big W are $6 for 20 and sometimes Dick Smith has good deals on their own brand ones, I got 40 for $5 last time.

      • mmmm thanks ezarc for that… i'll check out that review… mmmm

  • Hi I need ‘D’ & ‘C’ spacers any idea where I can get them at a reasonable price

  • +2

Eneloop case is still avl on amazon, this was posted before by someone and had got 1 then, it has 12 AA, 4 AAA, 2C & 2D spacers, 4 position charger and carry case, For Melbourne it is now $50.96 US and the shipping took just a week. Not sure if there is any amazon code avl to reduce the price.

    • Thanks for the link… I was about to buy 2x packs of AA's from this deal and then I was going to have to buy a charger… lucky I saw your link =)

      For anyone interested it contains:

      4-Position Charger
      12x AA eneloop Rechargeable Batteries
      4x AAA eneloop Rechargeable Batteries
2x "C" Spacers that Ingeniously Power "C" Devices with AA Batteries
2x "D" Spacers that Ingeniously Power "D" Devices with AA Batteries
      Attractive & Reusable Carrying Case

    • The included charger is of poor quality, but still good value overall.

      • +1

In what way is it of poor quality? I have the eneloop charger and it works fine.

    • Thank you for the link soyea. Just ordered 1 x for myself.
      Regards

  • its no wonder the electricity bills are going up per household.. so many things require lots of battery which require electricity to charge em, but great deal nonetheless.

    • 1500 charges vs buying 1500 new batteries as they run out.

its still cheaper to charge at home even if electricity is double the price.

    • Charging small batteries uses an insignificant amount of electricity, it would be impossible to notice any increase to your electricity consumption.

    • Yes, all these people with 22W devices are increasing the energy price. Are you sure its not all the people 2ith 2.2KW devices?

    • If you're really that tight, why don't you just charge them at work lol or a public toilet…

  • These work great for SLR flashes/speedlites.

  • Are the AAA going to be the Glitter type?
I would rather the Giltter ones so not to confuse them with my standard colour Eneloop AA's.

  • I don't think this is the best deal, maybe for the product but not for the purpose.

I would be buying Turnigy batteries from Hobby King. Well regarded batteries from a good company at a great price.

    http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__342__85__LiPo_LiF…

    $19.71 shipped for 8x AA 2400mAh

    $25.83 shipped for 16x AAA 900mAh

Not hating on eneloops, just think Turnigys are better value which is what OzBargainers are interested in.

    • Do you know how much shipping is at Hobby King off the top of your head? Say for 8 AAA's. Im not registering to find out.

      • -2

        $5.99 for 100-300 grams =15AAA or 8AA
        $9.99 for 301-500 grams = 26AAA or 14AA

        Batteries are
        AAA .99
AA 1.59 (the $1.29 2000mAh are not in stock)

    • Service at Hobby Co is questionable. Twice I have bought from them and 1st batch of batteries came a whopping 2 months (8 weeks) later. 2nd batch I purchased in mid June arrived in Sep only after I sent them a few emails asking them where it was.

    • Do you neg something if one person thinks one other brand is slightly better value ? ?

  • For anyone looking at a good charger to go with this I found this via a user in another post: Maha Powerex MH-C9000 - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/251076212340?ssPageName=STRK:MEWN… Works out to about $63AU shipped - not the best price ever but the cheapest I could find right now .

Been using a fairly crappy quick charger from dealextreme that seemed to do the job but after reading about what these good quality chargers can do I was starting to get worried about what my current charger is doing to my eneloops.

This charger is pretty good and the one I use for my eneloops. There is also a 16 unit charger.

    • $21.11 shipping changes the value proposition somewhat, although it does look like a nice unit.

  • similar deals include the shipping price

    • +1

      Links please.

  • AAA sold out now, unfortunately

    • AAA is back in stock. But shipping is $3.99 now.

  • Guessing can be marked as expired now. AA's though in stock are showing at $14.95 (plus $5.95 shipping to WA)

    • Not for me - AA's $9.95 and shipping $3.95 to W.A, perhaps they kicked it off again with increase shipping.

  • Looks like the deal is still on.
Just bought 2 packs of AA for $9.95 each.

  • shipping cost has been increased to $3.99, no longer $1.95.. is there a coupon code? thanks

  • Great thanks for the post - great timing :)

As above poster says, post is now $4 ea but combined discount applies.

  • 04/10/12 - Back on special, have asked a Mod to un-expire the deal. All links are still relevant, $3.99 postage.

    • Power users might be able to un-expire deal by clicking on the red "EXPIRED" and then select Remove Expiry.

By the way I have just received an email notification that my order of 4x AAA + 4x AA have been dispatched. The invoice does not include GST so I presume it would be grey import again.

  • Got mine today - not bad :)
