    • Fantastic, thank you so much!!!

Okay, I think I now know what's going on - you embed an RFID tracker into random beans that 'phone home' every time I reach the bottom of a packet, which acts as a trigger to launch your next deal. Am I right??? If so, it's working brilliantly!

I'd love to say I'll be ordering a kilo of each, but Mrs. C has suddenly decided that she's okay with full-strength coffee again so she's been dipping into the regular beans. Shucks…I suppose that means I'll have to get two kilos of the most excellent BSP SO. ;-)

Having said that, if anyone is contemplating the SWP decaf then I highly recommend it. I personally find it's the best decaf around with a full-bodied flavour that's not wimpy or weak. 5 Stars - would decaf again!

    • +1

Fantastic to hear from you @Chazzozz your comments still bring a smile to this side of the screen :)

Indeed, we have proprietary technology to get the deal timing perfect for you, we call it the "pure luck algorithm," fingers crossed the system never faulters haha

Sounds like Mrs. C is one order away from going all out to get the best of both worlds by making her own blend of decaf mixed with caf.

Love the glass half full attitude to double up on our Brazil SO, thank you so much for another terrific order and you're wonderful spruiking skills to share your highly complimentary thoughts on our unique Decaf!

p.s. nice ending slogan "would decaf again!" I feel like it has the potential to catch on and start popping up all over the place

  • +1

    Love your stuff.

Any deals on more fruity/acidic beans better suited for espresso coming up? If not, ill get these

    • +2

Hey @BlueJay87 appreciate you taking the time to reach out, wonderful to hear we're in your good books!

Never hurts to ask, but we tend to focus on one deal at a time, so I honestly don't exactly know when or what our next deal will look like. Our Brazil SO works really well for espresso as well as milk based coffees. That said it does speak towards more of the chocolate end of the flavour spectrum. We do have a few absolute fruit bombs on our site, they are currently only available at full price, perhaps you could mix and match to lower the cost e.g. half your order on sale and half at full price :)

  • Got 1KG of the Brazil São Paulo Single Origin and everyone in the office seems to like a lot (Me included). Great for Milky coffee/Ice coffee, would recommend, especially on a sale :D

    • +1

Morning @TerryJustTerry WOW wonderful to hear you're in your team's good books, and in turn we're in yours :)

Thank you so much for another order, your continued order are sincerely appreciated!

  • Highly recommend their decaf.

I initially tried it because my partner feels jittery from coffee, but I ended up liking it just as much as caffeinated variants. It's also nice to be able to drink coffee at any time of the day

    • +1

Hey @safwanc love the "all day, every day" notion when it comes to fresh coffee!!!

Very happy to hear our unique Decaf if such a hit in your household. Decaf does get a bit of a bad wrap in general, but if it gets the right attention it really can be quite delicious. Sincerely appreciate your terrific vote of confidence :)

  • Great coffee, thanks for posting these deals. Any deals planned for your moments to memories blend?

  • Good timing. Great cofffee been buying for awhile.

    • +1

      Woohoo for perfect timing!

Thank you so much for your continued patronage, it truly does mean so much to us :)

  • Coffee newbie here - Would the decaf be good with cold brew or is it best with other methods?

    • +1

Hey @fruitysalad welcome to the coffee world!

Nice questions, better safe than sorry. Our Decaf is quite versatile, so if you enjoy chocolate notes in coffee, then I think our Decaf will hopefully be a winner for you with your cold brew :)

      • Cheers! I'll need to buy already ground as I don't have a grinder - how long would they last opened (and unopened)? Fresh is obviously better but I won't be able to get through them quick enough

        • +1

Some might be horrified to hear this, but we are still drinking some ground decaf (kept in the fridge) that is over a month old and loving it.

Absolute novices here using a Moka pot and have found it delicious black, with a dash of milk or into an iced coffee.

        • +1

Sure thing @fruitysalad appreciate the extra info!

If your cold brew used a metal mesh filter then our Plunger grind is the winner for you. If it uses a paper filter, then I'd recommend you g for our Pour Over grind. You're spot on fresh is always best, but I understand you need to find the right balance of best and viable. Coffee is best enjoyed within about a month of roasting. I'd recommend perhaps starting with a small 500g bag and see how you go from there :)

  • anyone knows how does the BSP SO compare to say inglewood sunset?

    Cheers

    • +1

I order both of these. Both are good. I find the LimeBlue Brazil to be slightly better. The taste is more chocolatey.

If you are into milk coffee, beans with a chocolatey taste generally pair well. Brazil is highly recommend

      • +1

I use the Brazil one for cold brew and it's amazing. I tried the Colombia one but the acidity was too much for my liking in cold brew.

  • +1

Thanks for doing delayed dispatch. Love the Brazil single origin

    • Hey @as01 you're most welcome, very happy to hear our unique delayed dispatch system is a winner for you!

WOW, what absolute music to my ears, I'm wrapped to know you "love" our Brazil Single Origin, thank you so much for sharing your fantastic feedback :)

  • Good coffee, but the CouriersPlease shipping takes at least a week to reach Brisbane, so need to take this into account.

    • Hey @DmytroP terrific to know how much you've been enjoying our coffee, thank you so much for the compliment!

Appreciate the feedback. Standard post can sometimes take a few days to get from VIC to QLD as it travels via road, if you need the good stuff delivered to you at super speed our Express shipping option may be your best bet, as that travels via plane, it's usually delivered to QLD in 1-2 business days :)

  • Can I put half decaf and half normal coffee beans into my automatic coffee machine? Does it lower the caffeine intake and still taste good?

    • +1

Hey @JH123 nice questions, appreciate you taking the time to reach out!

      1) You certainly can, just make sure you blend the two components really well otherwise you'll have inconsistent extraction

      2) Yes, it will lower the caffeine. I believe it will still taste good as the flavour notes of the two coffees are towards the same chocolate end of the spectrum. That said personal flavour preference is subjective, so the only real way to know if you'll enjoy it is to give it a shot. Perhaps get a bag of each and experiment with a few different ratios before mixing the entirety of each bag e.g. 1:2, 1:1, 1:3, 1:4…

Hope this helps, please feel welcome to shout out with any further questions :)

      • Thanks! Good that you pointed out it may taste good if two coffees share the similar taste as I was planning to only buy the decaf one and mix it with my other stuff. Now I will need to investigate a little bit more.

  • How long does it take for express to arrive in WA?

    • Hey @Lange appreciate you taking the time to reach out!

It does depend a bit on where exactly you are within WA. However, I can provide a general guide based on the State. We're in VIC, all standard shipping travels to WA via train (regardless of the carrier), which does slow things down compared to other States where interstate freight travels by truck. As such, standard shipping will take 1-2 weeks depending on where you are within the WA. A much faster option if our Express Post service as that travels via Plane, so delivery is usually 2-3 business days from VIC to WA :)

  • +1

Amazing!! 3kg ordered asap for next roasting date 6/11, thank god as I'm desperately running out of my last Lime Blue order - phew!!

10000% highly recommend this company, customer service 20 out of 10! communication brilliant, quality product, excellent price - wish you opened up a second site in Sydney!! :D

PS you also get a sneaky free tim tam in your package so don't accidentally throw it out!

(I have no affiliation, just love the coffee!)

Ooops I got a bit excited doing my 2nd order for delayed shipping and need to bring the date earlier, sent you an email Tom (order#41303)!

    • How long does 3kg last you? That's a lot!

  • Silly question, do I have to roast it or what??
Or is it vacuum sealed packages ready to be used??
I do not have anything to grind the beans, wouldn't mind to get into the hobby tho.
I am totally noob into this but miss a nice coffee from Br that is for sure.
    Any recommendation is well welcomed.

I am more into coffee + milk but wifey worked at Nespresso, a total coffee freak and prefer black coffee.

    Thank you

    • +1

I'd first do some research as to what home coffee setup you want.

    • +1

Hey @ratoloko appreciate you taking the time to reach out, it's always better to ask than wonder!

We roast the coffee for you and dispatch it nice and fresh within 48 business hours of roasting. We use coffee bags with zips and one-way valves. If you decide to regularly make coffee at home, then I'd highly recommend investing in a burr (not blade) coffee grinder, it'll improve you flavour experience ten fold :)

So I can be helpful with my recommendation could you please let me know what equipment you'll be using to make your coffee?

      • Hey, I use vacuum sealed coffee ( powder ) using our old hot water and filter way using a Breville coffee machine.

Wake up with the apartment covered with a delicious black coffee smell.
I haven't gotten into those nice coffee machine yet because as you can see, I don't even know where to start with the beans alone, but I love the fact that Breville will get things ready by the time I get into the kitchen.

So If I understood you correctly, I need to buy a burr without blade to grind the beans which if I understood it correctly, is already roasted. Beautiful.

I only drink coffee at home, coffee shops only sell dirty water labelled coffee.
Wifey likes Nespresso coffee with tons of weird taste, man, I just wanna the gold and old black coffee lol

One last question if you don't mind, I usually use 4x 250gr vacuum sealed coffee.
Reading some comments here, it seems like you have to freeze what you aren't using, beams require some extra care with moisture, etc.
Is there any special instructions you would recommend?? Some people take 250gr or so overnight to defrost by morning.

Once grinded and stored as powder, I believe it is just the matter of drinking "old coffee", it is not different than now, 250gr will last a few days.

        Thanks a lot for replying,

        • Ignore the beans questions, did some homework and as long as I keep it well stored, away from light and oxygen/moisture, freezing adds no benefits to coffee beans. Coffee/air tight container is a nice solution.

          • @ratoloko: Hey @ratoloko appreciate you taking the time to send the extra info!

You don't "have" to get a burr grinder. I'm just saying I think it's worth the investment if you're going to get into a regular routine of making coffee at home, as fresh coffee ground on demand should improve your flavour enjoyment ten fold compared to using pre-ground coffee. However, if you're not ready to take the plunge and get a burr grinder then we've still got you covered as we offer pre-ground coffee. Could you please let me know the exact model number of your Breville so I can recommend the most ideal grind setting?

In terms of the freezing coffee aspect. Again, this is not something you "have" to do, it's just something we highly recommend if it's going to take you much longers than a month to get through an order. I do understand there's likely a lot of mixed messages online about the benefits of freezing coffee. However, I can promise with absolute certainty from first hand experience there is a huge difference for example between a coffee that's been in the freezer for 4 months and a coffee that's been stored at room temp for 4 months…the frozen coffee will still be fresh and the room temp coffee will be stale. All that said it you think you'll be able to get through an order within roughly a month then an airtight container kept out of direct heat should be fine :)

            • @LimeBlueCoffee: Thanks a lot for the help

I have a basic coffee machine that will likely be upgraded with time so I don't mind looking into a proper grinder and upgrading the coffee machine later.
Black Friday is "around the corner" so I don't mind if I miss this promotion, will still buy the coffee anyway regardless.
I haven't drunk a Br coffee for over a decade now.

I am not as much coffee drinker as wifey but I WFH so I don't mind the investment.

              Thanks a lot.

              • @ratoloko: Value for money under $250, hand grinders are the best value in terms of grinding - look up 1zpresso which is one of the best established brands in the hand grinding space.

If you don't want to spend 1-2 minutes grinding for each coffee, then electric burr (not blade) grinders are the next step up. Common picks under $700 are the DF64 family and Eureka Mignon Specialita

Visit https://reddit.com/r/espresso for recommendations and to see how just much money you can "invest"

  • First of all, I have to say that I really enjoy a lot buying from Blue Lime. I can't say enough positive things about you guys. Just a question about freezing the bean bags. Is there a 'best method" to do? or should I just stuck them like I receive them in the freezer? Any tips for it? thank you

    • +1

I like to divide each 1kg bag into 330g bags using snaplock sandwhich bags. This way, the snap seal the bag for freshness (no air can escape) and you can take each bag out to defrost when you need it (no need to defrost an entire 1kg)

  • Do you ever plan on making 250g bags? Would love to try your SO's but 500g is too much for me making pour overs

  • How does one go about having their purchases delivered to an AusPost Parcel Locker? Wanted mine shipped to a parcel locker (not home when the delivery drivers show up usually, and haven't tried the locker option before), but paid with PayPal, and with 2 clicks it shipped to my address. Thought there would be one last step where I could review/change addresses before finalising the purchase. My fault.

    • +1

Hey @AussieDaddy thank you so much for your order, it really does mean a great deal!

We certainly can ship to a parcel locker, you just need to make sure you select the Australia Post shipping option.

3rd party express payment options and autofill regularly mess with addresses to the point where I almost think they are somehow getting $1 kick back from the delivery companies by messing with the formatting so the parcel can be marked RTS and delivery companies can charge a RTS penalty fee haha Anyway, nice detail pick up, the simply fix is send you address change request to us via a reply email to your order confirmation :)

      • Thanks for the reply and info. Was thinking to email you re the parcel locker address, but since I chose the AusPost option they would take it to my local AusPost office if I am not home, so all good. Cheers

        • +1

          Sure thing @AussieDaddy :)

Just so you know what to expect, the Postie will only take your parcel the the LPO if you're not home when you've left delivery instructions to the effect or there is no safe place to leave your parcel.

With a parcel locker (you likely already know the details of this, but I'll mention them just in case), once the Postie places it in there you'll got 48 hours to collect it, if that window is missed you'll have 10 days to pick it up from the LPO before it gets marked return to sending. Fingers crossed you never receive a message saying "your parcel have been returned to sender." If after reading this you've changed your mind and want to go with the parcel locker you're still welcome to email the request :)

  • Been waiting for this… getting some more bag… thanks!

    • Fantastic @llama9000 glad it's worth the wait for you, thank you so much for another order, it's sincerely appreciated :)

  • just ordered 2kg BSO.
i couldn’t resist had to order another 2kg in Jan.
I know now I don’t have to wait for another deal for BSO.

that’s also very generous of you guys to allow us to change the dispatch date if it doesn’t suit us!!

    appreciate ur generosity!!

last time i had to buy 500g bean downstairs at the cafe waiting for your bean to arrive.

    so smart!

    • Absolute music to my ears @bryan1217 thank you so much for placing another two amazing orders with us and sharing such positive, complimentary feedback, it truly means so much…big smile on this side of the screen :) :) :)

We do our best to make things as flexible as possible as we know life happen and sometimes schedules/deliveries need to change. For a while now we've been accommodating dispatch date adjustments when the need has arisen, we just haven't publicly posted the feature. We are looking into some new technology to further enhance our scheduled dispatch experience for our customers, so watch this space.

Love your planning ahead skills, so you don't need to worry about running out of the good stuff, thank you once again for your continued support and patronage :)

  • -1

Something just struck me… if I order a bag and have it shipped much later, will it be the old beans from the current roast date or will it be roasted closer to dispatch?

    • Hey @llama9000 appreciate you reaching out to check!

As mentioned towards the bottom of our "helpful info" above "You're welcome to place multiple orders scheduled for dispatch at various dates (delayed dispatch) to make the most of this deal, we strive to dispatch our fresh coffee within 48 business hours of roasting." I can confirm there's no compromise for quality by ordering in advance, you're simply locking in the deal pricing, planning ahead to ensure you don't run out of the good stuff and also reserving the supply as we do sometimes sell out of our Single Origins :)

  • Not enough room in my freezer compartment to keep the bean, can only order 2x 0.5 this time and miss the free delivery. Maybe not enough until the next sale, it is going so quickly :)

    • Hey @Ruth Hill haha not enough room in the freezer, sounds like you need another freezer just dedicated to coffee!

Thank you so much for another terrific order, it truly means so much. Don't forget you're able to place delayed dispatch orders up until the 30th of January, 2024 via this deal…food (coffee) for thought just in case it's helpful :)

  • Enjoyed the last single-O so decided to try this one

    • Fantastic to hear @sqheaven thank you so much for sharing that feedback and placing another order with us, it really does mean so much!

Fingers crossed you love this SO just as much as the previous one :)

  • The bag of the Columbian Cauca I'd ordered arrived literally as I saw this promo land in my inbox. Of course I grabbed a kilo - one of my all-time favourite SOs from any roaster.

    Highly recommended.

    • WOW what a truly wonderful vote of confidence @MyOtherOtter thank you so much for sharing that terrific compliment!!!

Truly appreciate you placing another fantastic order with us, absolutely wrapped to know how much you've been enjoying our fresh coffee :)

  • The best beans one can buy. Bought, of course

    • WOW WOW WOW @SmashedMango what an amazing vote of confidence, which we truly appreciate as we do your order too, thank you so much!!!

  • Just put in an order for mid January. Hopefully enough freezer space by then to cope with 3kg of incoming Brazilian SO. In this case, SO possibly means 'significant other' - as I DO buy from others including Inglewood and UCR.

In each case I tend to like coffees at the more chocolaty end of the spectrum. Our 'go to' tends to be Inglewood's Roosevelt blend.

Why Lime Blue then? Quality, consistency, flexibility. We've never been disappointed with any of the Brazil-heavy Lime Blue coffees - and the ability to book in a couple of months ahead is a winner for us. It is also why Lime Blue gets all the big orders! Other roasters might take note!

    • +1

Absolutely fantastic to hear @lostincanberra such an uplifting onslaught on compliments and thank you also so much for another terrific order!!!

I'm so wrapped to know we're in your good books, we'll keep working hard to stay there :)

p.s. love your planning ahead skills and I'm glad you have a good amount of freezer space for the good stuff so stay fresh

  • Silly question but how do you place multiple orders scheduled for different dates?
    Currently enjoying your Brazil SO!

    • +1

Hey @Dessi not a silly question at all and I'm so glad you proactively asked rather than retrospectively enquired :)

Multiple orders from you sounds wonderful!!!

From a both technical and financial perspectives we're only able to dispatch once per order. As such, we can certainly accommodate what you're trying to achieve, you'll just need to place a separate order for each corresponding dispatch date, for example if you'd like product dispatch on 5 separate dates between now and 30 January, you'll need to place 5 separate orders.

Please let me know if you have any more questions :)

  • Fantastic, thanks LBC. A happy home again.. :D

    • How wonderful to hear @GenghisGun you've brought a smile to this side of the screen :)

Thank you so much for another order and your continued support, it really does mean so much!

  • +1

and thanks for the Tim Tam :-)

    • @rentonc you're most welcome, glad you enjoyed the surprise!

Thank you so much for placing an order with us, it's sincerely appreciated :)

  • Anyone have their dial in settings they use with a Barista Express with the Brazil beans? First time trying these

    • +1

Hey @Callum1080 appreciate you taking the time to reach out and thank you so much for placing your first terrific order with us, it really does mean a great deal and is an opportunity we won't take for granted!

Never hurts to ask…each machine will require slightly different calibration settings depending on variations at manufacturing and use of the burrs. Not I know you may be thinking at this point "that information is all well and good, but doesn't really help at all!" Good news is I can still help guide you in the right direction so you don't waste too much of the good stuff trying to perfect your extraction:

      1) Your machine has a 54mm basket, as such I'd recommend starting with a 16 gram dry dose. The ratios on the bag still apply, 1:2 black and 1:1 milk based/white
      2) Always use the straight wall double shot single walled basket for the most consistent and well extracted shots compared to the single shot and/or double walled baskets
      3) If you don't know where to start with the grind setting, perhaps start around the middle and adjust from there based on a 16 gram dose. Don't forget to adjust settings while the burrs are moving/grinding and discard/purge roughly half a shot between adjustments so you're not pulling a shot half on the old setting and half on the new setting

Any more questions please feel welcome to send an email to [email protected] :)

  • Hi, just regarding freezing of coffee beans (The other thread comments are closed)

I'm onto my second 1kg bag of frozen beans now. It seems like shots are over extracted, ie. comes out too fast and/or have to tamp much harder than usual for a 20g/30s shot. My grinder is also on the finest setting. Don't think i'll buy to freeze again unelss i'm doing something wrong :)

ps. It still tastes good, actually I think it's fine just have to compensate for it a bit (and grind a bit finer. as they get older once opened this is limited by my grinder, but got the beans in a vacuum container).

    • +1

Hey @G-rig appreciate you taking the time to reach out, always better to ask than wonder and in specific instance I've very glad you asked!!!

If the shots it coming out "too fast" that likely means the shot is under extracting, sign to back this up would be if the shot is lacking crema, it's watery and a bit on the sour side. Good news is this can be fixed fairly easily, provided your burrs are sharp and dose is on point. I have a hunch your shots may be channeling because the grind is too fine, dose too high or a combination of both, this means pressure build and the water seeks out the path of least resistance, thus fracturing the puck and bypassing the coffee.

If you grind frozen coffee due to the enhanced brittleness you can actually grind finer as the particle distribution is more uniform. However, as your coffee has thawed out, the fact it was once frozen should have no material impact on your grind setting.

Very happy to hear you're still enjoying the flavour, that means freezing coffee should be a winner for you, now we just need to sort out your extraction settings. Please feel welcome to email [email protected] if you have any follow up questions :)

      • Hi Tom thanks for the reply!
Yeah I had another look, the beans were thawed a while ago so wasn't trying to grind frozen beans etc.
I removed the shower screen (Nanotech coated Mesh) wasn't too dirty but no doubt helps, the grind I guess was a bit fine and or tamping too hard. I could use a better grinder sometime (EM0480) or at least clean the burrs perhaps. It just seems like 20g in is a fair bit (group handle full before tamping) and 20ml of coffee isn't much for 30s, so It would have to be coming out pretty slow.

Will play around with it a bit more - Thanks :)

  • Every time I order I forget to switch delivery from "no preference" to "auspost". Could you make auspost default?

it's 9 days from roast date and CouriersPlease last update is still "Collected from sender", and that's not even interstate delivery

    • Hey @interlocal appreciate you taking the time to reach out and thank you so much for another order!

For a number of reasons, we've found it's not a good idea to put all your eggs in one basket when it comes to dealing with delivery companies. We've seen overall faster and a better delivery experience by splitting dispatch across more than one delivery company. Furthermore, we have contracted terms with both Australia Post and Couriers Please which we need to fulfill. As such, we must maintain our current system of the "no delivery company" preference automatically assigning orders to carriers around the time of dispatch based on a number of continually changing factors…just because you were auto assigned CP this time doesn't mean next time won't be AP and vise versa. However, we do understand customers may have a specific delivery company preference for one reason or another, which is why you can also specifically select Australia Post or Couriers Please as the delivery company :)

Both Couriers Please and Australia Post only offer point to point tracking, as opposed to live tracking e.g. a parcels tracking may still look the parcel is in VIC when in reality it's already interstate. Unless you're in a rural area or WA, 9 days sounds like something's wrong, especially as there's only a single tracking update…could you please send a reply email to your order confirmation email so I can look into this for you?

      • Ok that makes sense, cheers. I just need to be more concentrated when creating order and select auspost then :)
I've just sent you email reply

        • Sincerely appreciate your understanding @interlocal !

Email received and replied to :)

          • @LimeBlueCoffee: Thanks, got my order!
btw do you have an option of in-store pickup (Moorabin I assume)?
