23% Off All Products, 50% off NIOD CAIS3 $47.50 CAIL $71.59 + $7.99 Delivery ($0 with $30 Spend) @ The Ordinary, NIOD, Deciem

410

Deciem's annual Slowvember sale will be starting later today at 3pm AEDT. All products 23% off, but this year the terms mention NIOD CAIS3 and CAIL at 50% off.

I'm hoping that the sets will be included in the 23% off as they are already cheaper than buying individual products separately (yes they are!)

If you are new to The Ordinary, check out their beginner's guide and regimen guide and select by what you want to target.

Here are Gothamista Renee's product recommendations for The Ordinary and NIOD

Have been waiting for this one!

  • Live now. Looks like the sets are also included in the 23% off sale

  • Question; I want to (belatedly) try a retinol, and will use it neck and face. I don't have particularly sensitive skin and am past middle age ;). Should I start with the 0.2% and try something stronger next time? Or go for the 0.5%?

The Ordinary's pure retinol formulas have been mentioned in a research paper to degrade by 70% in 6 months after opening, which is why I no longer recommend them. However their granactive retinoid emulsion (a more advanced, stable form of retinoid) was very stable in the same study. Granactive retinoid is much gentler than pure retinol but still effective and not likely to be irritating. Check it out.

Edit: I started my retinoid journey with the emulsion. The Ordinary also makes 2% and 5% granactive retinoid in squalane. I went up to 5% in recent years. I prefer the emulsion in terms of texture though.

      • Thanks for the advice!

    • If you prefer to stick with pure retinol (since there is more historical data available for it's efficacy), I would suggest trying neutrogena's retinol products instead, they have put in a lot of research to stablise their formulas. They have a moisturiser with 0.13% retinol that you can start with. They also have 0.3% and 0.5% serums that you can build up to. I would definitely recommend easing into it.

  • Has anyone tried the peeling solution which has been banned in Aus ? Looking at it on eBay but unsure if it is fake or legit

Yeah I have a couple bottles - it does work very well and leaves my skin feeling very nicely exfoliated. It does have the potential to irritate if left on the face for more than the recommended 10 or so mins, but otherwise is excellent.

      • Is this the one you're talking about - Lactic Acid 10% + HA? I just ordered it to try.

  • Oooh. How can I get a hold of it here?
