Merrell Men's Vego Waterproof Mid Hiking Boots Black $155.97 Delivered ($145.97 with Code, Club Membership Required) @ Anaconda

BIRTHDAY10

Have been keeping an eye out on these mid hiking boots and they've been hovering around $199 and lowest I've seen was $179 earlier this year so thought I thought I'd share this "monster deal" I stumbled across. Use BIRTHDAY10 for an extra $10 off.

The Men's Vego Mid Leather Waterproof Boot is a durable boot for hiking low level trails. The leather upper offers excellent comfort and wraps around your foot while the M-Select Dry technology helps to keep your feet dry while on the move.

  • Vego = PU fake leather?

      Doesn't seem so:

      Upper
      Leather
      Outer
      Leather upper

You can check all product info by clicking the shoe thumbnail in this deal.

As a side note, that's surprisingly shitty marketing by Merrell - as if it's to mislead or if nobody there had a clue that naming a proper leather shoe "Vego" might be confusing.

  • Not Vibram soles. I would strongly urge you to buy a different Merrell shoe that has Vibram if you care about longevity, traction and comfort of your hiking shoes.

Does vibram cost more? I'm a casual hiker only doing about two hours a month with occasional day hikes maybe once a year or so. Would these suit me as I don't want to pay the earth? Just don't want to roll my ankle like I nearly have in my running shoes. Are the sizes true to fit? I have a fairly wide foot.

If you're a casual hiker I wouldn't recommend waterproof shoes. Most casual hikers rarely hike in the rain and thus all you've got is a sweatbox for your foot. If your trail has a body of water that goes above the line of the shoe (water going inside the shoe) the waterproof shoes will also take longer to dry than breathable shoes.

      • Cheers. I already ordered a pair of these because stock levels were low in my size. My shoes do get wet sometimes as I often walk on tracks with muddy patches and puddles in Tas rainforests. Hard decision though as my feet do get hot and sweat in summer.

  • These vs safety boots for hiking?

  • The code birthday10 didn't work for me (logged into my account when purchasing)

    • Try WELCOME10. Apologies it might be added to the specific account as it was my partners birthday month.
