Boost - Instructions to Alter How Long Your Phone Rings

I want to alter how long my phone rings and found this FAQ:

How do I set up voicemail and messagebank? (scroll down) https://boost.com.au/pages/help-topics

On that page, there are 2 suitable means:

  • MessageBank Diversion
You can alter how long your phone rings before being diverted to MessageBank. To divert calls after 30 seconds dial…

  • How to extend your ring time
On your Boost mobile dial 61…(For example, to extend your ring time to 30 seconds, you would dial 61…

I'm using MessageBank. Is there a difference if I set either to 30 seconds? Or do I need to set both?

  • I do the second one on Boost and it goes to Message Bank after whatever time I set.

Did you notice the differences in the number of asterisks between the two?
i.e. the first one starts with **61 and the second one with *61

    • Yes, I did notice that. So what's the difference if all I want to do is alter how long my phone rings?

      • I would try the second option first because it seems simpler and the second sentence in the first option (MessageBank Diversion) doesn't make sense grammatically to me (because it has one "divert" verb and three "dial" verbs). So I'm not sure what it's supposed to mean.

If that doesn't work try both (if you haven't already done that).
