Any reason on going for the 530 rather than 540?
Didn't even know there was a 540 - I am newbie with the bike computers.
All good, I wondered if that might be the case! They're both good computers (I still have the 520) but if the price difference isn't huge, you might as well go for the latest version.
There are a few comparisons if you Google the differences.
I didn't know about the 540 either, but I do have the 530. I'm new to cycling, but am pleased the 530 does everything I need and a lot more I haven't tapped into yet. Looking quickly at the 540 the main difference is the colour screen and usb-c port instead of micro. The connectivity and 'smart features' look much the same. Personally I don't think I would get much from colour unless it was useful for navigation, and I don't find the Garmin navigation great anyway. If they were similar prices I would go 540, but if I could save $200 on black Friday that is they way I would go. Also, I bought the kit with heat rate monitor, cadence and speed sensors and glad I did.
I am new to cycling and gear, so take my thoughts with a grain of salt. Everyone has their own needs out of their gear, and that should have first priority.
