Isuzu Mux Lst Buy Delivery Dec 21 or Wait for 2024

I am buying a new MUX and suggested delivery date is late December.
I am concerned a few weeks later it becomes a year older when it come to resale value. Should I buy the 2023 model or wait for a 2024 build date that late in the year. Need it for a trip April 2024.
Also Isuzu bull bar is about $4000 after market $2000/$3000. Should I buy the Isuzu or aftermarket.
Cheers Hol

Just get it now. Not going to make a significant difference to sale price if you’re keeping it for 5y or more. Especially if there is no significant feature upgrade for 2024. From what I can see the Dmax gets a decent upgrade in the next 6months or so and the MUX could be another 12 months off before a decent upgrade.

As for bull bars, factory one is OK but overpriced IMO. Just pick one you like the style (and price) of. There’s plenty out there. Just do a search on MIC bullbar and you’ll get a bunch of options to look at. Some dealers will put on other brand bars if you ask. They’ll get the brand supplier to fit it, but it’ll be included in your lease and warranty will be with Isuzu.

I’ve just put an Ironman Raid bar on a Dmax and would put one on an MUX if I wanted a bullbar. Good looks and decent price for me. Saved the $ on install and DIYd it.

Depends also on if you want hooped or hoopless. Hoopless is OK for off roading to hold a winch but if you are worried about animal strikes you want hooped.

    • Thanks

    • Ironman Raid bar on a Dmax

      That looks badass.

      DIYd it.

Was it a 1 person job or did you need a mate?

Mostly a 1 person job. All the brackets etc fitted with one person. Just used a helper to put the bar on, but apparently you can do that if you’ve got stands.

All good except the Ironman instructions did not spell out which bolt was which. it took a bit of guess work to get the right bolts. Took my time, slowly and carefully and it took a few afternoons to complete.

  • Best bullbar but not to every ones taste is the Smartbar (made in OZ). Alloy bars are useless, steel bars are to heavy.

Trouble is since ARB purchased Smartbar they have included the ARB tax.

    • Looks good any idea of cost?

Somewhere between $3,500 and $4,000 fitted.

I'm surprised people are still buying new cars given the secondhand cars are falling through the floor. I've seend drops of 30% in as little as a month.

"wait for a 2024 build date"
Not sure about current climate, but our car was complied 2 months after the build date. Build date is different from first registration date
    .

    • Same here. Car was built early December 2022, but compliance plate is January 2023, so it’s registered as 2023

      • At the end of the day, a couple of months makes bugger all difference 5 year down the track when it’s all about the overall condition of the vehicle. The only time those few months makes a difference is if there’s a big change in the model lineup at that time. And for MUX, there won’t be for another 12-18months. There’s a couple of minor changes between 22 and 23 models, but not a lot. We waited so long for ours we got the 23 not the 22 and apart from a different set of wheels and an auto tailgate there isn’t anything of note.
