A family member has left me some Australian coins some pre-decimal and one that is misprinted and I am considering selling them. Can anyone recommend an honest and reliable place to have them appraised with a view to selling. Thank you.

Buy a copy of the Renniks Coin & Banknote guide; this will give you a suggested retail value.
Most common selling outlet is eBay where you can expect to realise approx 50% of the catalogue value. A dealer will likely pay you only around 25%.
You can also check the thousands of listings on eBay to get an idea of a coins valueI keep seeing Facebook posts about 20 cent coins that are worth thousands. So maybe keep browsing Facebook until you see a bunch of those promoted posts?
Any coin fairs in your state coming up?
Anyone tried this and have any feedback? Does the scanning work with AU coins and give an accurate value?

There's a few coin collectibles shops in Sydney CBD you can enquire within.
Alternatively, maybe cross-check what you have with some selling sites for a rough idea of potential value: https://www.prospectstampsandcoins.com.au/australian-coins/a…
