MY23 Polestar 2 Run out Offer, any good?

I am shopping around some EVs including Tesla Model 3, CUPRA Born and Polestar 2

Found the Polestar 2 feels the best to drive (more sophisticated, European feel and great one-pedal drive). And the rep told me about their MY23 run out offer which includes a complimentary pilot lite pack on MY23 models which gives me the adaptive cruise control that I really need. Consider it's an option on MY24.
I personally could not tell much of a difference between front wheel or MY24 rear wheel drive.

Apart from the complimentary pilot lite pack, Polestar is also throwing in free Evenex Wall Box + installation, and a type 2 to type 2 cable. Which seems to be an great offer for someone like myself new to EV.

I am more interested in the Long Range Single Motor but my husband prefers the Long Range Dual Motor as Polestar is offering $8000 performance pack for free, what's your thought about Polestar's offer? Which model would you recommend?

The Polestar is a great EV.
Although adaptive cruise control as an option at this level is a joke, should be guaranteed.

I'd go the awd performance if i had the money, having said that, Tesla's are in freefall as they continue to churn them out and demand is being diluted amongst multiple other brands. They no longer have the monopoly that they used to.

Guessing money isn't an issue, else i'd be getting the MG4 if you were looking for value.

Polestar 2s seem to have exploded in popularity with Uber drivers nowadays, so likely a decent choice. It is a Volvo after all.

Whatever offer you may think you're getting, it's likely offset by future depreciation by getting an older model year anyway. So swings and roundabouts really.

    • It is a Volvo after all.

Not sure exactly what that means when Volvo isn’t really Volvo any more after being bought by a Chinese company.

It wouldn’t stop me from buying a polestar though - if I was considering buying something in that bracket.

The dual motor seems like the better deal, but will cost a bit more with the added packs depending what's available in your state. If your state has an EV rebate also check the cut off if you're eligible.

Also check out the BYD Seal, only available to order for 10 days and probably can't test drive until later in the year, but it has some advantages over the Polestar 2 like price, being built on an EV platform so doesn't have a transmission tunnel, LFP battery that can/should be charged to 100% regularly, V2L, ventilated seats and on the upper spec models head up display. One disadvantage is the mandatory servicing required for the 6/8 year warranty.

Similar for the dual motor P2, big batteries aren't light.

  • Probably the closest to a Tesla Y copy
    use your own preferences.

  • Doesn’t the 3 support V2G?
