Is League of Legend (LoL) Community Still Popular in Australia?

The game has been out since 2009, for some reason I want to try playing it now for the first time.

Is LoL still popular in Australia? Are there still a lot of players in Australia server? Or am I too late?

    Plenty. Just so you know, community is brutal. Don’t play ranked until you’re aware of the game mechanics and at least comfortable with a handful of heroes or you will be absolutely roasted.

    Take it from someone who read ‘top diff’ in 90% of my games lol.

      If you have played Dota. It's fine to play lol ranked..
      Anyway you start at the bottom so it doesn't matter you with other noobs

      What does the modern gamer play instead? I always thought LoL was relatively popular, at least in terms of the pointy-clicky-"waaah lookit my ping it's so high"-style of computer gaming.

          I meant of the "pointy-clicky" games though. I thought Overwatch (and its sequel cashgrab code-fork Overwatch 2) was one of them "Rooty-tooty-point-and-shooty" type games instead.

      I don't think a 'never popular' game could ever fund a US$40 million prize win for a single tournament.

    i still play a bit of league and it's easy to get games.
    only certain hours like early mornings (5am - 10am) that you won't find much players but otherwise it's fine.

    if you haven't tried it, its worth trying.

    Would not recommend a new person to pick up this game unless clearly playing pre-made with friends. Otherwise waste of time and game has been dying on oce servers for quite some time. High elo is just chinese players, wintraders etc and quality of games and players getting alot worse.
