AirPods 3rd Gen Experiences

Hi All,

I've got a pair of 2nd Gen Airpods that are slowly dying, otherwise they've been fantastic for several years. Thinking of changing them to a pair of the 3rd Gen Airpods (I don't like silicone tips) and wondered if people have made the same move.

  • Are they much better sounding?
  • As comfortable (I know this is subjective)
  • Are the pinch controls better than tapping?
  • Are they worth the extra cost?

Any and all feedback/thoughts welcome, thank you!

    There are a plethora of comparisons on YT/Google/Reddit to extensively satisfy your curiosities.

    I've been considering just picking up another pair of AirPods 2nd Gen, the battery life of my pair have noticeabley degraded from 4 years of heavy use but otherwise they've served me well. I think I'll just run them into the ground or until a deal like this pops up again, where it's same price/cheaper than a new pair of 2nd Gens.

    IMO they shouldn't have removed the tap feature. The stalk on the 3rd gens is too small and hard to pinch without dislodging them from your ear.

    I really like the 2nd gens, got the 3rd gens recently and they are a great improvement. Better sound, longer lasting, connect even better than the previous versions.

    Def. recommend
