    Got one! Thank you

  • Shit missed it. N100 would have been great.

    • +1

Seems to have lasted 5-6 mins.

  • +2

Wow didn't need it, but missed it when looking at N95 v N100!

  • great price

  • N100 vs Pi5…this would have been amazing!

    • Certainly when on special these or second hand mini PCs now seem to be a better option for many (most?) RPi situations. This is particularly the case for the RPi 4 or RPi 5. At the lower end many of the micro controllers are solving problems that might have been done by the RPi Zero.

  • +1

    100% claimed

  • +5

Deal only lasted for 1 minute.

    • +7

      Yes, they sold both units!

  • ahh I needed one missed it

    • +2

      you can buy unicorns…..?

      • +3

Silly, of course you can. They are on sale at all the stores run by pixies. :)

        • ah the pixie store, I don't believe in sky pixies but pixies fine will check it out :-)

      • I got 3. . Don't know what the hell to do with the third.

They are easier to buy then these lighting deals mini. PC

        • 3 is just greedy, maybe swap for the mini pc

  • +2

Cheers OP, got one, waited out the claimers who didn't get one :D

  • +1

So which one is better n95 or n100? Managed to get the 100

    • N100 has better GPU

    • +5

n100 just that tiny bit better in CPU + GPU performance, but has lower (better) power consumption.

  • No USB C is a deal breaker when 98% of your tech is usbc

    • Get a dock that's usb c

      • I need a space saver, not extra attachments lol

Its a mini pc for a reason

  • +2

How do you find these deals? Are they just listed under the deals tab on the front page of app?

    • +2

Same , how do people get notified of these?

  • +2
    • +4

      USD

    • +3

      you are quoting USD

      • +1

You are correct. Showed as US Currency when added to my cart.

  • +5

These deals rotate all the time. Don’t get FOMO around the coupons. They keep changing prices, discounts and coupons constantly. Been eyeing the 12450H variant for a while now.

    • +1

Yeh I wouldn't pay rrp for a mini pc as they are always discounted, but I've been watching for weeks and yet to see a 16gb n95/n100 this cheap before.

      • +2

yeah N100 this was all time low

        • +1

I've seen this happen on Amazon a few times. The lightening deal and the coupon definitely weren't intended to be active at the same time.

          • @iMagoo: They did it again today only with a £180 coupon. $55.99 shipped.

    • +2

This is $75-$85 cheaper than what the 16GB/512GB Kamrui N95 usually goes for when stacked with coupons and lightning deals. Even their 8GB/256GB model has never been this cheap.

This was also an all time low for the N100 model.

  • +1

is there an equivalent of this with usbc?

  • +1

I'm going to try set this up with my reolink cameras

4th pic on the N100 says it's 'competibel' with Lunux, Ubuntu & Win10.

But I bet only the French versions.

    • 4th pic on the N100 says it's 'competibel' with Lunux, Ubuntu & Win10.

      It says Linux

      • +1

That was my attempt at French.

        • +5

          le whoosh

  • +1

Are these things any good for a 10yo starting to game? Roblox…

  • What do people use these for?

    • +1

      Some additional use cases:

Cheap family mini PC with Windows 11 Pro.
      Retro gaming.
      Try things out (linux).
There are some cost cutting bits on these N95 mini PCs:

el cheapo WiFi card (most likely 1T1R card with bluetooth 4 support)
PCIe gen 3 x1 NVMe m.2 SSD support
      RAM and SSD are lottery
Some don't let you change the CPU TDP in BIOS
$130, it is a bargain. <= $200, you can consider. Over $200, make sure you really need one instead of pure FOMO.

That makes me reconsider my post, there’s no excuse not to put wifi 6 and BT 5 or higher in a box these days. It’s when the drop the Ethernet port or only gave 100Mbps which saves them like 5c in manufacture that annoys me. Lots of Smart TV still putting 100M Ethernet and cheap CPUs requiring anyone serious doing Mefia from other sources to end up wanting to buy a Media player

        • +1

Or just get a usb wifi dongle for $10-30 depending on how good you want it.

      • +1

Chances of having DRAM on the SSD are about zero.

  • Missed it, but this would make a good TV media box yeah? Even could use for some simple gaming, older titles?

    • Yes this would be an excellent addition

  • Never seen something disappear so fast. I would have taken two.

  • Man missed it out Wish I got 1 so cheap.

  • Lottery

  • Would something like this do the job purely for torrenting? Can the storage be upgraded to at least 2tb?

    • looks like you can install an additions ssd

  • Would something like this run Zwift ok?

  • how do you think this would go as a movie type PC for a TV?

  • Its shipped already

  • I always miss these damn it. Was checking ozbargain a lot just before this deal, then didn't check for a couple of hours!

  • +5

TL;DR. Yes probably. Depending on what OS you wanna run.

KODI or Plex fine. You can get legit streaming software from Microsoft Store if you want the streaming apps I just find it easier with Android TV and you can get some cheap ones or expensive ones or an AppleTV but if you already have you media, they should playback OK unless you are sending them 2160 REMUX files, but haven’t never owned one of these particular boxes, it should handle that, Plex, Jellyfin all make hosting your own media on a bigger box somewhere easier. It really comes down to use case. These boxes make OK streamers, but you can do stuff on Android TV cheaper and easier but you might wanna host everything in one box, and I don’t think these would be a great choice. Unless you just wanna stream media.

On a home lan you won’t need to transcode. I don’t think these are powerful enough for doing multiple transcodes.

But one as a Plex server and one to playback Plex, Plex server and playback from the same box might struggle a bit. Might need a bit more CPU if you are going to do it.

Cheap Amazon 4K Fire Stick, preferably the max and side load whatever android apps you want to put on there. I paid $57 about two weeks ago. Yet to try out their new one.

I’m a big fan though, it is four years old, is the Nvidia Shield TV Pro. but the last one they released in 2019 is the one you’ll need and they are still fairly pricey boxes, but if if you want to do Dolby Vision.

Either that or an AppleTV 128GB with Ethernet if your Wifi isn’t great. That will get you Plex but not KODI and all the legal streaming apps, no side load, at least not until EU forces Apple.

The Amazon 4K Fire Stick or preferably the max for a bit of extra RAM and CPU is one of the cheapest media players around and you can add Ethernet to them with either their own overpriced Eithernet option or maybe a UGreen with a MicroUSB as these things need some USB power to run. There are lots of info on these sticks on Google, but built on Android TV you don’t need to have an AMZN Prime account but it helps. Then there a a bucketload of other android media players.

I only suggest that because I look at a lot of media player solutions for various people on various budgets.

Once upon a time you needed a decent CPU and a HTPC was a good way to go especially if you wanted to store drives with local media. Android with a gmail account most of these apps are free and easy to download and easy to install.

It also depends on what OS preference you have.

Running Windows you can get nearly all of the legit streaming apps plus run KODI and Plex. They just take a bit longer to set up. Video card not sure, should support Dolby Vision pass through for Plex, KODI has been a little more problematic but that’s because the devs are waiting for FFMPEG to support DV HDR in a .mkv file.

There are a lot of different solutions the Fire Stick TV is one of the cheapest and pretty robust, very quick to get up and going. New hardware just got released.

As mentioned HTPC might be an option if you want to store local content and want to put a few big drives but Linux is a better option for low powered mini PC boxes but when you have something cheap like a Fire Stick that the base model 4K usually will do the job you usually don’t need a full PC unless you have specific requirements. Especially if you are streaming or have media on another PC somewhere with local drives

That’s just my take on the current market. But short answer is yes, but those mini PCs not even sure if they have a Windows license or if it’s legit.

I find a lot of the Android TV solutions are fine if you already have a PC where you are hosting your own media. Pure Streaming solutions there are some cheap options.

If you want the AppleTV, it does most of what you want but a bit tricky to VPN. Plex has made that streaming your own media much easier. ATEOTD, it just depends on what you want to do.

Android based stuff is pretty simple and lots of guides out there on letting them do extra.

    Sorry for the long answer.

  • correct me if im wrong but these are mostly used for TV's correct? like loading up 123movies website on your tv or playing multimedia collection from HDD

    • +1

Thats 1 use case. Another as a headless box for home automation or remote access. But I'm going to use mine as a desktop replacement when I'm working from home and don't want my beast gaming pc with a bunch of fans, leds and watercooling pumps draining unnecessary power for just email and web browsing.
