Pull out Kitchen Mixer Question

HI,

I need to replace our kitchen mixer tap.

I would like to have the opinion of people that have a Kitchen Pull Out Sink Mixer Tap.

Are they more practical than non pull out kitchen mixer taps?

Are they easy to clean (thinking of the pull out hose).

Do you use the pull out feature on a daily basis (cleaning the sink etc).

Thanks

  • The hose becomes a point of failure which results in water-damaged joinery and collateral damage to the structure below. Consider getting a pre-rinse spray.

    • +1

have had a pull out mixer now for 6 years… haven't had any trouble, been using it daily

  • I don't have a pullout - I have separate sprays - but I use them all the time. To clean the sink, spray into pots to clean / flush them, to spray clean a sink full of chopped up kale, to give the garbage bin a flush, to rest a large tray in the sink and spray down from the top, etc. Also the spray is higher flow rate than the tap so if I'm filling up a large container of water I use it to save time. Wouldn't want a sink without it anymore

    • Do you have the name of the tap and the model?

      • My kitchen ones are not bargains - Perrin and Rowe brand - but I love them and would repeat if I was doing it again. I have a cheaper Bunningsy pullout type in the laundry, doesn't feel anything like the ones in the kitchen but still super useful, IMO much more utility than a standard tap.

    Yes

Ours is about 20 years old. Never cleaned it. Still looks like new.

I probably use it once or twice a week.

  • Might be a silly question, what is the difference between pull out and pull down?

    We have a deep sink.

  • Sounds like a perfect forum post if it was still 1995.

  • Pull out can be unreliable.

    • you always need a backup to the backup ..

      • That's why I have cloned a vegemite :-)

  • I used to have non pull out which I did not like at all. Recently made a switch to aldi $79 pull out model and it's been really good so far. Aldi gives 5 year warranty on that…
