Quality not so great. Ours 7 years old now, about 5 years developed leak from the hose to the fridge, so no longer using water dispenser and auto ice maker, as probably need to replace a part on the fridge. One door has issues, eventually now won’t self close. While our previous fisher paykel fridge which was the upside down single door instead of French door was still going after 15 years.

    • Neither of my doors self close and I've had the fridge for a few months. I'm pretty sure the French door mechanism means they can't self close…

I plumbed the fridge in myself and it wasn't hard to get the connections right to avoid leaks. You could probably fix it yourself.

For self close I mean when the door is near closing position it will close and not left slightly open. They were able to do it for about 6 years until recently one door stop doing it.

The leak is probably due to the seal for the pipe to the fridge no longer being sealed tightly. A part will need to be replaced for it to work again. You need to identify which part if the problem then purchase it and replace it.

        • I have the 519L model, apparently there is a known issue (according to other owners) with the external water filter housing which will eventually leak (it was from that specific spot, all the other plumbing was fine).
I had mine replaced at 4 years. I was told you can get rid of this with an aftermarket water filter system as well.

Otherwise the fridge works fine for what a fridge is suppose to do. Cant comment on reliability but I'm still using my old 25yo samsung fridge in the garage.

  • Great fridge, so far so good for us. Just make sure it is on a flat and level floor. Mine wasn't and I got a lot of ice build up in the freezer. Fixed the floor and now it's fine.

  • Have the version of this from 5 years ago. Seals didn't work after 3 years and had to replace, then the engine kept failing, causing everything to defrost many times. Not recommended.

    • What would you recommend then?
