I am wanting to get a sim card to use only for getting calls and SMS. I do not want to send or make any calls.
What is the cheapest Sim I can get that allows me to recharge the least amount so I can keep the Sim active?
I remember Lebara would let you recharge $5 and that would keep the Sim active for three years - not sure if they still offer it.
I saw there was another thread similar to this question posted recently but the suggestion in that were $40 plus!

Just make sure you turn off data.
Lebara still offer this. From memory, the minimum is $10 or $15 for 365 day credit with no data. Perfect for an alternate mobile number that you use only for things like ATO and banking 2FA and contact details.
Optus flex use to be great for this and you only needed to spend $1 every 6 months or top up $1 to message/call on that day. Soon to be phased out though hence why I'm here 😔
I just bought the Amaysim $10 starter kit from K-Mart for $5. Activated it tonight and it lets you pick the PAYG option (at the very bottom of the screen once you click on more options).

Yes provided they have stock, it’s on clearance. The first one I went to had no stock, the second one about 8/9 left.
