30% off Car Audio at JB Hi-Fi

90

Hey guys, was looking at JB for a new head unit for my girlfriend and surprise surprise, they're having 30% off all car audio until Monday. Excludes audio visual, screens, navigation and factory scoops.

The prices are actually pretty good for the lower end stuff which is what I'm gonna get for my girlfriend such as the Pioneer DEH2450UB for $90. For the higher end such as the Alpine X305S $279 at JB, can usually get it for $230-250 from ebay/overseas.

Hope this is a good deal for some out there!

  • Do JB's do installation? How much is that usually?

Yeah they do, but I'm not sure on price, maybe $80 at a guess. You should DIY, it's a very straightforward process. You can usually find plenty of guides online for your model car which has step by step instructions and pictures :)

Don't get JB to install. Their workmanship is absolutely horrible.

      • it depends where you get it done, my friend used to work at JB, great job he done.

And aerpro adaptors are available for most cars and headunits so you do not need to solder. Gets expensive though, as say you have some model ford and a pioneer headunit - you need 2 adaptors , 1 of ford to din and another of din to pioneer. Dont pay more than about $15 each for adaptors , supercheap have them around 15$ but autobarn charge 30.
Most headunits have a end that fits the headunit, and bare wires on the other, so if you can solder then get say a ford to din adaptor , or use the one you take out of the old radio and solder the cable supplied to that…

if im not wrong repco has them for $1 less than SCA.

what i do is chop up the head unit end of the harness and leave the factory uncut. that way, if i want, i can always install the stock head unit back and keep the head unit for my next car.

  • got 2 headunits today =D

  • the CDA117e is an excellent bargain for those out there who wants a flagship model headunit.
