I've not used this grocery box subscription service before, but thought I'd give it a try for the first box at $34.27 delivered. Usual price of $67.95.

What about family of 1. When do we get alcohol and drugs box?

@mod code works for NSW (not just QLD) and maybe other states and territories.

I just signed up and it looks like you can. I'd go for the fortnightly delivery

  • Just note that fruits and vegetables are imperfect ones.

We have been using them for all over a year and have been happy with the box (in VIC). The contents are very seasonal and typically the fruit is excellent. While the box is supposed to contain “imperfect produce” but we frequently have a hard time telling any imperfections in the produce.

You can create a list of veggies/fruit that you never want and they won’t put those in the box.

The business addresses a big problem, but with all food delivery services there is an additional problem of food-miles. This is the only info I could find about their sourcing of produce:

We have a diverse range of growers who are constantly shifting depending on the season. In general, we source a large portion of our produce from farms and distributors located across the eastern states of Australia with a strong focus on Victoria suppliers.

I don't know where the produce is shipped to, for re-packing and distribution, but getting it to Queensland (as their latest delivery location) is likely to be a long haul. It could be that produce sourced from Victoria goes to NSW? and then re-shipped back to consumers in Vic.

There's a similar group in SE Qld - Funky Food - with a similar model. (Google funkyfood and you'll find them.) Apparently they build relationships with local producers. I'd imagine Farmers Pick are expanding into local arrangements as well?
