Another price increase from Disney. I don’t think the value is there anymore.
Seems to apply from today onwards on your next billing date.

You'd have to be a Turkey to see good value at that price :)
I haven’t got it or kept track of pricing, but if you have kids that are into Disney $2.69 a week seems reasonable to me.
Now $139.99 AUD Per Year
I pay $0.00 AUD Per Year
They will also start cracking down on password sharing, like Netflix does.
Once they do that they'll see Au subs drop
Didn't seem to bother Netflix.
Yeah Netflix subs went up in the US but that news.com.au article that mentioned the price increases stated at the very end that they saw a drop in AU.
We are, afterall, the biggest pirates in the world.
We are, afterall, the biggest pirates in the world.
That is to be expected with all the oppression from the current governments…
This price increase happened back in December 2022, but appears you were lucky enough to enjoy 10 months at the old price due to the annual sub.
I don’t think the value is there anymore.
It never was. Disney+ was always just a cashgrab and the content they have been creating is F grade rubbish (She Hulk, anyone?)
I guess they really are a Mickey Mouse outfit
Still probably the best streaming service for anyone with kids. Particularly now they've doubled down on it and killed of DVD/bluray releases. They just need to commit funding to something that isn't star wars or marvel in terms of TV shows.
There's also that disney, prime and apple TV costs a combined $340 a year. A Netflix 4K one is $276. We're only going to see prices keep going up from here since it's not profitable for the first three yet is hugely profitable for Netflix.

People have already started going back to pirating.
netflix was revolutionary when it launched its digital offering, but now it feels like cable TV all over again. and now we have ads in these streaming services. The cycle continues,
Many people seem to spend half their (and their kids) free time watching the TV. Is it really unreasonable for people that spend 50% of their free time watching TV, to spend ~1% of their household income on that TV?
to spend ~1% of their household income on that TV?
It's a bit silly to say this when EVERYTHING has gone up.
"Oh you need food to literally LIVE so is it unreasonable to pay a bit extra?"
"You also need to move your family around so is it unreasonable to pay more for fuel?"
The gist of it is that Disney+ is going up in price but the content is rubbish, so why would you want to pay more for crap?
It's different to food or housing though, as you say it's just garbage content. Nobody has to pay for it at all.
If a luxury good is an activity that takes up half your evenings and is worth 0.7% of your income, it's probably worth 1.0% of it, too.
Just based on my observation but I really doubt there are many people that have a collection of streaming services that just watch a movie or couple episodes every other month.
Anyone who spends 50% of their free time watching TV is going to run out of content on Disney+ very quickly.
Really it's $140 a year for about 30-40 hours worth of Marvel and Star Wars content for most people. If you have kids it's great for all the disney stuff, but otherwise it's the back catalogue of Hulu bolted onto the side of their main two empires.
Woke-Disney is losing boat loads of money
Do the Turkey job otherwise just pirate the content you want most of their catalogue is pretty rubbish ie She Hulk etc
Not even pirates watch She Hulk.
Amazon prime is looking better by the day.
Most people that have Disney+ also already have Amazon Prime.
No wonder people are under financial pressure. It isn't the RBA but people signing up to too many streaming services LOL
Source?
most people
@AustriaBargain: So no source
Okkk
agree much better than disney+
Do they pay you to watch 'She Hulk'?
I don’t think the value is there anymore.
lol it's still only half the price of netflix premium annually
Tell the kids they only get it over the long summer holidays and they can smash it routinely for the period in question and subscribe monthly for that month only.
It is going back to the good old days without streaming or the internet. Kids are going to have to play outside or get creative with games rather than watching TV or being online all the time.
I can remember late 80s when the recession came and my parents telling people now there was a time where they could barely afford the ice cream we wanted. They only had 2 kids.
Kids are going to have to play outside
"outside then vs outside now…"
Outside now…
They need to fill up the time until then…
Even then they only get like 1 month to hit it then they are off it again, nothing in life is forever especially pricey stuff
….shit. now i gotta check out she hulk!!
canceled mine and never going back, they are too late to add Marvel movies and some shitty shows what a waste.
Disney Plus is in Fantasyland.
