  • Is it just me, or is this like the fourth day in a row this essentially same deal has popped up? Store reps, take note! :D

Pity the range of discs is so limited. Last time I checked Oovie out, they had only one of the 23 titles in my Quickflix queue.

    • the popups will run until sunday…

at least one offer per day, but can be up to three…

yesterday was rent one, get one free, today, it's just a freebie… no need to pay for one first.

Pity the range of discs is so limited.

They have most new releases… they added a few more over the last couple of days too…

they had only one of the 23 titles in my Quickflix queue

Quickflix has a warehouse of thousands, you can only get so many into a vending machine…
Also, I find Ezyflix much better than Quickflix. They send the DVD's out a lot quicker…

      • Thanks for pointing out Ezyflix - thought Quickflix was the last one standing. Priority for me is range of titles over disc turnaround, but good to know there's an alternative should Quickflix kick old users off their grandfathered plans.

And the Oovie bot may end up being the next best thing for new releases should the local Video Ezy go under.

I don't think it warrants another thread so I'll just note it here in case anyone wants to borrow a few DVD's to keep the kids busy…

  • thanks

  • Thanks OP and jv for the codes. Appreciate the help. I can't check my FB account from work, so this is very very helpful.

  • Thanks op

Btw I got curious and tried a $50 prepaid visa card - it worked btw :0

    • i wonder if you can still use it when it runs out of credit ?

      • I suspect not as I have previous tried one with $1 credit on it without sucess.

It was interesting though and worth a try if anyone has a prepaid card kicking around.

Oovie has taken a lot of kiosks from hobart unfortunately, but I still love free days :)

Last night someone was a couple returning a dvd, and I told them the code so they could get a free one.

They were amazed, and I was "well that's ozbargain for you, one person finds out and shares it and everyone knows"

Hopefully there is two new members now :P

        Thanks again OP!

        • it would be good to know what is the min credit you need to use them, then you can stock up on prepaid cards and empty out the DVD machine on free days…

  • he he jv we think along the same lines here :P

The only hiccup we had with that ID is the prepaid cards have a fee to buy initially which offsets the savings from the DVD itself.

    • yeah but is there an expiry date to the credit?

if you can leave them at say $5 or $10, and have a few just for using to borrow on free days, they'll pay for themselves pretty soon…
