If you subscribe to netflix, this movie will soon be available as part of your sub

      • Oh okay so if I have subscription, I can watch movie from Netflix?

    • +11

If you have a Netflix subscription then this movie will be cheaper than other methods of access? I'm not sure how this is hard to understand

      • 4K Netflix is not cheap tho. But yeah if you already have it and want to see Mario, then this is a good deal.

      • -5

        Cheaper than a torrent?…..yeah na

Let's add every torrent on here… bargains they are

        • 🙄

        • +5

its like saying an iphone 15 for $200 is not a bargain cause its cheaper to steal it from the applestore

          • @furythree: logically speaking, it is cheaper! lol

          • @furythree: No, it's more like being able to walk into an Apple store, clone an iPhone, and leave, while the original phone stays in the store.

            • @barcer: itd still be stealing and you wouldnt be cloning the license to use it, but your not wrong

        • Torrents are too much effort

    • +39

Member since 2012 and acting like they've never seen a subs post before.

      • That urge must be irresistible.

I bet there's going to be another one in this deal.

      • +4

I only clicked into this deal to see the angsty comments.

      • I've been a member since 2014, and I've not seen one before, either.

    • +3

You must be new here (EDIT: or not, per comment above mine). The holy war around whether additions to subscription services count as bargains was fought and resolved half a decade ago: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/510579

      • +7

But the poll said most voted no. 🤔

        • +4

Exactly. So what was the point of the poll if it has no bearing on the result?

If every addition to a streaming service was a new post, the site should be called OzStreaming.

        • +1

Scotty/team came up with a suitable alternative where if you don’t want them, you can filter them off. That’s a win-win.

          • +3

            @tomsco: Should be opt-in, not opt-out.

            • @barcer: Why? The idea of this site is for waht is popular to reach the masses. If a barrier is put up, users may never learn about these posts, wheras every single one of these posts has instructions to opt-out. Your suggestion would be a win-lose.

dont cite the deep magic to me witch, i was there when it was written

    • +1

You got (video) you paid for (video subscription).

    • +2

It's not a deal, shouldn't be posted. Someone is just trawling for updoots.

    • -5

its a horrible movie.. it should be for free!

  • Nerflix, the new streaming service from Hasbro

  • +5

new episodes of Kosta's garden is coming to ABC iView…should I post a deal about that?

    • +19

Were they previously only obtainable if you paid for them?

      • Like when a new episode of The Grand Tour was posted as deal

    • +1

      Please do

    • +1

Just an FYI, but if you've been sailing certain seas this has been available for a while

    • I thought the seas were closed??

      • +1

Bulgarian Sea has closed, but there are other seas

      • They aren't, you just need to take proper precautions while doing it, like a vpn and whatnot

        • +4

I haven't taken "proper precautions" in Australia for the last 25 years, and there have been no issues.

Usenet is generally a better way of doing things anyway.

          • +1

@Goldfire: That's fair - I'm not hugely technically inclined so decide to use a vpn anyway just to be safe. I have it on a dedicated plex server so it doesn't affect anything I do on my normal computer, which is definitely handy!

      • Where'd you get that idea from?

  • +7

Who subscribes to netflix anymore?! We pay the highest subscription for the least amount of content. I've compared oz content to other countries and its piss poor. Feel ripped off all the time, and ever since the pw sharing fiasco, unsubscribed and feeling is gone.

    • I only keep it because I’m subbed through turkey. If I was paying Aussie prices, I probably would’ve cancelled.

    • I was getting it cheaper via Optus, then something in billing cancelled it and I haven't renewed.

Plenty of less technologically inclined people still pay for Netflix. I'm an audio video nerd, screens, projectors and cinema in general is my jam. But sometimes the convenience of Netflix would win out over a high quality download that could take my rural connection days. While Netflix would look great barely getting 1.5Mbps. Chromecast into a mobile projector setup, no file management or calibration needed and movie playing in under 2 minutes can be handy.

      • Have you considered Starlink or similar service ?

        • Have, but don't need fast internet that badly and at that price. The wind is blowing the right way today, so I'm getting 6Mbps, which is sufficient, just using my phone as a hotspot.

    • Really?

      USA:

      • Standard with Ads = US$6.99 (equivalent to AU$11.07 ex GST)
      • Standard = US$15.49 (equivalent to AU$24.53 ex GST)
      • Premium = US$22.99 (equlvalent to AU$36.41 ex GST)

      Australia:

      • Standard with Ads = AU$6.99 inc GST
      • Standard = AU$16.99 inc GST
      • Premium = AU$24.99 inc GST

From what I can see Australia is more than 30% cheaper than the USA. The difference is even greater when you factor in GST.

Netflix has added 9 million subscribers as a result of stopping password sharing. So people are clearly still seeing value.

    • Password sharing still works in Australia.

      • Not for us, my brother was locked out because he "wasn't on the same network". Netflix asked us to confirm the device we were using was the home network and once we logged in, he wasn't able to anymore.

        • Bummer. Still working for us, but probably not for long.

      • No it does not. That got nerfed a few months ago. Only works if you are using apple tv

        • Still working for me today on all devices, I'm account sharing with four other OzBargainers.

          • @rokufan: Netflix must've been targetting certain users or a percentage of users . (profanity)

    • I stopped subscribing a while ago. I was happy to subscribe a few of these streaming services. I stopped because since they have increased prices, stop password sharing (even though they pushed it at the beginning), pushing advertising, and content is being spread out between numerous new services. I find it too much effort to have numerous services, when I can just access all the content from one place, with better streaming quality and no need for vpn etc

Can’t wait for “peaches peaches peaches” to be on replay again in our household

  • +1

Thanks - been keen to see this regardless of reviews.

  • +2

The Netflix service is just being more and more anti consumer the price hikes. The non sharing of accounts and the removal of the low tier service just show how greedy this corp is. I'll stick to Amazon and disney

    • Disney and Amazon are also very greedy corporations…

      • You are right however I don't find their streaming service as anti consumer as Netflix though

  • +3

There is great confusion when my kids try to explain to their friends that it’s been out already for ages on Plex 🤣

    • Haha out on Kodi at our place lol

    …Peaches, Peaches, Peaches, Peaches, Peaches
    Peaches, Peaches, Peaches, Peaches, Peaches
    I love you….

  • If you believe all the rageaholics online, no one has Netflix any more 😂😂😂

    • Prime is a good alternative but its price now has up up

Me watching this (pirated) right now :)

Also trying to look for complete series of the 100 (pirated) but no luck so far :(

      • Pirating can require too much effort

Though real debrid plus stremio or a kodi add on makes pirating easier than paying for Netflix.

Netflix and other streaming services advantage was they had all the content and were easier than torrenting. They no longer have that advantage

        • Yeah agree not always a nice experience priating.

Popcorn Time the GitHub version is my go lately. Kodi used to be my 2nd resource until sources played up too much. I had a quick look at Stremio last time but haven't into it yet. Hope it will have what I'm looking for.

          • +1

@bcYield: You really need to spend the few dollars a month on a real debrid subscription. It’s worth the price for the ease in convenience and you find plenty of sources at great quality that way.

            • @Ronnnie: Sounds like it won't be a disappointment. I'll give it a go. Cheers for the heads up.

  • Man it's a shame Netflix got this. Their steaming compression is so bad. 4k content looks worse than 1080 on other platforms because of the artifacts. Absolute potatoe quality
