Are Loyalty Programs Required to Disclose Terms & Conditions?

After receiving two referral rewards ($10 each) from a loyalty program I recently joined, I have noticed there is absolutely no terms and conditions published anywhere (for the loyalty & referral program). Not on sign up, not in the confirmation email, not in the website’s general terms and conditions section. Literally nothing about the program beyond a few claims of the perks on the signup page.

I asked their live chat customer service for them and she said they don’t have any. I asked if I could then use my 2 referral rewards in a single order and she said no. So I asked why if there are no t&c's that state otherwise and she said that their system only allows one at a time.

**It got me thinking how legal that is and if there is no terms and conditions can they make up restrictions as they like and not disclose it? **

Edited to further clarify, hopefully: My post is about LOYALTY PROGRAMS, and in this case it has come from a singular experience with a store but I'm asking a general question. Perhaps about Australian consumer rights? I can't find on the ACCC anything specifically about loyalty and referral programs, nor via Google. If you do know where any information about this can be found I'd love a link. Thank you

    Which program is this?

It wouldn't be an OzBargain post if someone said something negative and said who it was.

Think about this OP, you go to the shop, you buy something. You've entered into a contract there.

Terms and Conditions are to restrict your rights, the lack of them is a good thing for you.

Sorry, I'm not perfect. Thank you for such kind comments. The store is PetChemist.

Thank you for the link and I know I can file a complaint. I really have enough fires going on and am so stressed, I do not have the energy for any of that, I just wanted to know if I was mistaken in my thinking and that they have the right to make restrictions as they go or not tell us about them. There is nothing that I can see in the link you provided answers that, please point it out if I have missed it.

If you are saying I'm correct in my thinking, I'd appreciate any evidence or link or something tangible I can take back to them. Thank you.

    • It's called PetChemist, it's just another pet supply store.

I think the tnc on the main website is the one encompassing one.

If you're wondering what the special offers entail, they've explained it directly below the offer (save 10 for first order over 99, etcetc).

Usually the explanation would be at the bottom of the page with their own supercript number. But in this case, theyve popped it directly under the offers.

        Seems ok to me tbh

No, why would I complain about that? I literally shared the T&Cs of that offer. If you read my post here, I just said there was no T&Cs at all for the store I'm referring to - which is PetChemist.

        • the stores rewards program, not the stores general t&c’s
    • Nuh, it’s a scam company that hides its terms and conditions on its websites by calling them ‘terms and conditions’. How could anyone be expected to find them?

My post is purely about the the rewards program terms and conditions, and that page as no information or relevance to the program. Thanks for your help.

    • Literally nothing in there about the rewards program, did you read it?
I also said the customer support confirmed they do not have any. Did you read my post or just the title?

    • Are you an Alchemist? What sorcery doth leadeth you to the Holy Grail of wisdom?

      • Musn't have much wisdom if he didn't read.

  • I guess it's their money( discount) so they call the shots. It's up to you if you patronise the business or not.
Basically if you like the product & price, and the discount makes it tastier, you buy.
You've clarified the issue about stacking rewards , so pick a lane.

  • Why don't you wait until working hours and contact your state consumer affairs dept and get the facts?.If there are none, it will prompt action on the can-o-worms
