What do you require port forwarding for on a VPN? I've been using one without it and torrents still seem to work perfectly.

  Without port forwarding you can only connect to other people who do have port forwarding.
  
  So you’re missing out of seed sources and therefore some torrents might be slower.
  
  Or, if no one has port forwarding, the torrent wouldn’t download for anyone.

        @PainToad: I guess if you're only on public trackers and getting popular stuff you'd never really notice. On some small private trackers I'd imagine it can be very hard to maintain ratio without port forwarding.

      It depends on your tracker I guess. Some I can maintain ratio without trying at all. Others I'd need help via various mechanisms.
