Buying Resmed CPAP Direct from USA

Hi,
I am intending to buy a new Resmed AirSense 11 directly from USA. A website called "CPAP Specials" sells a brand new one for A$1207 (with no local warranty and 4G download / monitoring support) whilst other Australia based shops sell for A$1900-$$2100 . Google search suggests it is probably a legitimate company. Anyone has bought from this company before?
Any advice or suggestions on how to get a cheap grey import will be highly appreciated.

Don’t forget USA use different plug and voltage. I bought a humidifier from USA, and ran it through a transformer, but it still died about 10 months later. To send it back, would have cost nearly double what I bought it for

Power is fine. Machine comes with a power brick that is 110-240v with figure 8 power cord.

I've looked at the Airsense 11 and I can't justify why it is worth any more than the 10. It has some extra data features and bluetooth, but I prefer to just run my SD card through my computer and OSCAR, give you much more data.

The Airsense/Autoset 10 is a very reliable and mature machine, the 11 is still only 2 years old, not enough time to see if it will last 5+ years.

      That is my opinion anyway.

People used to grey import cpap machines all the time without trouble, and they're medical devices so the construction quality in theory is high, however there's enough competition in the Australian market now that the machines are regularly on sale and therefore there hasn't been anywhere near the same pressure to grey import.

The AirSense 11 Autoset S11 has literally only been out for a couple of months at this point and local stock levels appear low, hence everyone is more or less quoting RRP, so it really depends on how desperately you need it yesterday. Personally, I'd be waiting until the new year to see how local prices settle down and to wait for a sale. Normally https://www.thecpapclinic.com.au/ is very competitive.

Resmed has had a couple of recalls in the last few years, so you'd miss out on a free repair or replacement with a grey import if that happens. Also, the first cpap machine I got failed and had to be returned and replaced, which was much simpler locally. Essentially I'm now on my third new machine for the price I originally paid for the first one.

Power supply shouldn't be an issue, other than that the pins will require a travel adapter. The machine accepts 100-240V AC and should work in any country.

  • I came across the same website. The price is suspiciously low.

If anyone bought this item, can you please comment.

  • Ive used https://www.secondwindcpap.com/ a couple of times. Bought lightly used models and never had an issue

  • Just found this thread. Did you end up making a purchase? I just snagged an airsense 10 from the US for $208 usd! Now just jumping a few hoops to get it here. I would be interested to know how you went if you see my post for an update..:)
