Just an FYI. The, Aldi 1lt concentrated cordial which makes 10lt vs. the Cottees which makes 7lt is $2.29 every day, so better value for money. The diet variety is slightly more expensive at $2.69 but also makes 10lt and not watered down limeto Cottees which sneaked it down from makes 10lt to 7lt.

This Amazon is still a good deal for those who can’t get to Aldi.

I doubt this has real raspberry in it

    • its raspberry "flavoured" cordial. zero raspberiies inside.

      • +1

        No, that’s raspberry zero. Sugar

    • +2

Yep common tourist advice in Bali is have red cordial everyday so you don’t get an upset stomach. No idea where it came from but has been going around for years.

  • The second most common ingredient after water is sugar, yet it says "with natural sweetener"

    • +9

      Sugar is natural.

      • +1

Then why aren't they putting Sugar under Natural Sweetener on the label but only Stevia?

    • Well it does have steviol glycosides in it and it doesn't say no sugar so….

    • Oh yuck, since when have they been putting artificial sweeteners in Cottees?

  • OOS

    • available again

        Yep just bought 6

  • Out of stock damn

  • Are they still using the non-recyclable PVC bottles? I haven't watch the remainder of the War on Waste season yet.

    • It's plastic, you might as well assume it's crap.

    • -6

Yes. It allows the patented “user-friendly handle”.

Cannot be kerbside recycled unlike every other cordial bottle out there.

      https://www.mediaweek.com.au/war-on-wastes-craig-reucassel-o….

    • They say they'll be phasing out to non-PVC bottles by 2025, so yeah they'll be there a little while yet. I had no idea they were not accepted in the 'standard' plastic recycling process for PET plastic bottles.

PVC is a recyclable material, and some Councils across the country still direct residents to put PVC in kerbside recycling. From time-to-time, we review our packaging
labels and as part of this review intend to remove the recycle logo from our label.

Cottee’s plans to exit PVC plastics entirely by 2025, and convert to PET, which aligns with our commitment under the Australian Packaging Covenant (APCO) and our
      sustainability goals

Why does the bottle look like laundry detergent?

    • +1

      Are you American?

    • -2

hard to pick which is better for you

  • These go bad if you leave them too long, probably too many natural ingredients.

  • +1

Cottees havent fixed their non recyclable bottle yet then

  • -1

Tempting, though im really sick of seeing so many Amazon boxes. Pass.

    RIP my rental property

My dad picks the fruit to send to cottees to make the cordial that ozB likes best

    • Cottees put fruit in their cordial?
      Learn something new every day

      • These days, I highly doubt it but that's a play on the classic cottees ad from the 80s and 90s and back then maybe they did.

  • I checked Aldi cordial ingredients which looks better, no thickener. [Raspberry cordial rabel] (https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/12470/107312/img_20231…)
It has real juice concentrate in it.

still has a sweetener in it, deal breaker
