Samsung Galaxy S23 FE 128GB $0 Upfront on Optus $69 100GB Per Month Plan (24 Month Contract) - in Store @ Harvey Norman

180

So, with the Pixel 8 Pro for $69 ending yesterday, here's another deal for those more interested in Samsung.

If you go in store to Harvey Norman, you can get a 128GB Samsung S23 FE worth $999 on the $69 Optus plan which provides 100GB data per month for 24 months. Good for those that missed out on the Pixel 8 Pro (finishing nearly a week earlier than anticipated

Or you can get it for $999 outright but that's not much of a deal. Mininum plan costs $1656.

How much is cancellation fee? Asking for a friend…

    • +1

According to the Critical Information Summary:

Maximum plan cancellation fee (Does not include additional device payments (if applicable)) for the $69 p/m plan is $828.

Had a quick look at the Google Pixel 8 Pro page (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/803565) and it matches.

      Looks like still $828.

Not worth the trouble for $171 in savings from $999 outright.

no deal, not only 8p is better for same money. you can get this way cheaper from samsung.

    • Let HN count the sales and do the math :)
At least there will be not many canceled Optus contracts.

    • Oh, I agree that the Pixel 8 Pro is the better deal, but that's ended now. I just saw this in store and thought it was a good alternative to people that prefer Samsung.

The big question is: whilst the Pixel 8 Pro is the better deal, is it the better phone?

      • I think Pixels have more software bonuses like gcam, from hardware perspective is middle range phone.
        Here compared to S23 - https://browser.geekbench.com/v6/cpu/compare/3075133?baselin…

        Even not S23+ or ultra.

I would say that generally you'd go with the Pixel 8 Pro for the software, and the S23 FE for the hardware.

        • Have to make sure you are comparing the version of Samsung we get not the US as they often have different processors.

hardware perspective is middle range phone.

That's if you take processing power as everything.

Personally any of these are fast enough processing wise you would be hard to spot it out of benchmarks.

The screen and camera setup are well ahead of mid range hardware.

          • @Duff5000: They sell the same snapdragon here in Australia, no more Exynos from S22 series onwards

sign up to $52 m2m sim at jbhifi and theyll give you $200 off. cancel it next day. save like $148 on an outright purchase if ur desparate for this phone for some reason lol

    • Nothing about $200 off on the website, is it store specific?

      https://www.jbhifi.com.au/pages/upfront-mobile-plans

      • no, but we typically have offers like these not advertised. sometimes the same deal is up to $300 off s23 series if u sign up to a m2m $52. works great when the phone is already on discount. always good to pop in and ask if you're there already

I think its better to order it online with some voucher codes and/or trade-in to get more benefit

  • Thought the p8 deal went till the 19th damn

    • +1

Harvey Norman ended it yesterday, due to low or no stock.

      • :(

      • +2

It wasn't due to low stock. It was due to Optus bending them over and clawing commission back because everyone was cancelling the plan.

  • +3

As usual, we got the watered down Exynos chipset.

All the other Samsung phones I've had have used Snapdragon.

Then prepare to be disappointed with this phone.
