Creatine Monohydrate or HCL?

Looking to get something from elite supps because of the cashback, looking for recommendations as I'm just getting into supplements. Thanks!

Consistency in Clean eating , high protein and heavy lifting?

    • Diet is pretty clean, not very high in protein though (also looking at whey powder on their site) and I do light exercises weekly/calisthenics

Really not good advice to give.

Unless go through proper channels of a DR (including getting regular) blood profiles.

Reason i say that … when you come off, do need to take other drugs to kickstart natural production again.

1 of those drugs NEEDS to be stored in a fridge (something which wont happen on black market) … without those drugs when you come off - it can take 3-6 months to properly naturally produce T at previous levels again.

      • sounds like someone knows from experience

        • Yes speaking from EXP …
which is also why your advice is not good advice to someone starting out in the gym (even if you only meant it as a joke) - but the OP may take your advice seriously.

In some ways … IMO I believe it should be how it was back in the 2000's
          Through official channels - VIA a DR +++ regular bloodwork + T levels done before/after a course.

DR's are legally allowed to prescribe drugs "off-script" … eg. what has happened with Ozempic.

But in terms of T / etc … in terms of ethics - really clamped down around 2008-2010 (some DR's losing their jobs). As from what I personally saw … state footy players were also openly given prescriptions for T …so with athletes involved it really caused a major media frenzy +++ resulting clampdown.

These days … think would be hard to find DR that would openly take on new patients for such a thing.
Not that I've tried … Sadly, I'm long out of the gym game (work too many hours).

Which in turn has pushed the whole thing to the black market +++ younger gen using it without proper knowledge/implications … and getting themselves into trouble when they come off it (imagine having no sex drive for 3-6 months - "limp d*ck"/etc).

HCL is better but costs a lot more. Some people get bloating with mono and not with HCL. HCL is around 35c-$1 per serve, monohydrate can be as low as 22c a serve. However this is on sale at the moment https://www.elitesupps.com.au/products/emrald-labs-hcl-2-0?v… and its going to cost pretty much the same as monohydrate when its not on sale, so can give it a go

Will you notice the difference - probably not, unless creatine mono gives you stomach upsets/bloating. However if you arent doing much resistance exercise or cardo then query if it will be of any benefit at all.

Lol. Googled HCL and thought you meant Betaine HCL, because that was the first few results.

I see you meant Creatine HCL.

There is no point on going anything above Monohydrate. But I guess if they are priced the same it won't hurt.

    First result in google …

"creatine monohydrate is affordable and accessible for individuals on a tight budget. On the other hand, creatine HCL has enhanced solubility and stability, making it easier to mix and consume."

I used to be into the gym between 1998 - 2012.
Since you are just getting into suppliments - do you really need creatine just yet?

First and foremost is protein powder (+ good diet) … then maybe throw in some preworkout powders.
