LG or Bosch Front Load Washing Machine

Hello,

I am contemplating between these two washing machines. Would like to see some opinions and reviews from owners of LG and Bosch. Bosch series 8 model as mentioned below is new in the market. I am relying more towards LG because of its Steam functionality.

I'm a big Bosch fan. I have German made Bosch washer and dryer - they are bulletproof.

I would advise against Bosch. I have three Bosch white appliances, a dishwasher, a drier, and a washing machine. We have had them for 2 years and all of them are starting to play up. We even chose series 8 that are made in Germany.

They're all rubbish these days. Just get a cheap $500 one.

  • If you have access to tgg commercial pricing, they are $1176 for the lg and $1403 for the Bosch

I've got this exact model for LG
    It's amazing.
Tells me when it's finished and has an auto dispenser so it's super convenient

  • Free delivery if purchase on LG website and you sign up as a member (https://www.lg.com/au/washing-machines/lg-wv9-1610w?gclid=Cj…)

Choice has the Bosch as its top recommended model, then an LG at a close number two but it did not review the specific machine you listed. I suspect there isn’t much in it and if you like the LG steam function go for it.

I actually have that model Bosch and thus happy it’s number one! And happy with it. Automatic dispensers really end up saving a lot in detergent. I reckon I saved the extra for the auto dispense feature in a year.

  • I have an LG washer/dryer with the steam functions. I have never had such crease-free clothes and love it for the time it saves me. I also love it's 'add item' function which is fast to unlock the door for you, unlike my previous Samsung machine. Unfortunately it has a design flaw with its lint filter that causes it to need fixed every couple of years (machine opened up and some back filter replaced - 5 min job once the machine is open, but repairman says it's going to just keep on happening because of the way it is designed), but that is a function of the dryer aspect so shouldn't be a problem with the washer only model. As frustrating as the design flaw is, I would still buy the machine again for the way it washes and dries the clothes.

Bosch I've never had personally but my mother has a 7kg washer which she curses for the creases it puts into her clothes, even on a lower spin.

I've had an LG top loader for 13 odd years now, still running strong.

    Bosch gets my vote
I had an LG that caused water hammer in my house pipes, plenty of cases on google. There was even a class action against them in the US
When that died I went shopping and salesman was recommending LG for my budget. I specifically asked about the water hammer and was told no issue so I bought on that advice. Had it delivered and yep water hammer, among other multiple issues.
I went back to the store and was able to return it, paid extra for Bosch series 8 and it is perfect and no water hammer. It is also heaps quieter than the LG and the 15min cycle comes in handy when in a rush

My LG front loader is around 15 years old now and hasn't missed a beat. It's a plain washer, no drying function but in Brisbane I have sunshine for drying.
