  2018 version and probably not getting patches. Should be okay if you're not opening files randomly downloaded from the internet, but I would be wary of potential security vulnerabilities that come with using outdated software, and opening files that may have malicious code embedded in them. ELi5 reddit comment if you want to know how it works

  Fun fact: MS office files are often just .zip files in disguise

    Last patch seems to be March 2020 FWIW.

    If you do install it, use the Check For Updates menu item or (presumably) cryptic button on the ribbon interface to ensure you do have the least outdated version.
