I've been looking for a new cutlery set and had my eye on this for about a month now. This is the cheapest price I've seen for this.

Retails for $699 in David Jones and $550+ in other local shops.

I purchased this in combination with the Westpac ShopBack deal and gift cards.

all good. I don't care about negs anyway. Thanks for adding the price.

  • If only we knew the price as well OP!

$356.79 for 24 pieces? They has to be complete gold plated instead of partial.

    • Definitely on the expensive side. I prefer the partial plating as opposed to fully plated though since platings tend to wear off.

Their Piemont and New Moon sets are also at decent prices when used with prime day cashbacks/gc s. If the discounts stack up and ShopBack tracks (fingers crossed on that), this would have cost me under 300 which was my max budget for a set.

Well this explains the cost of living crisis.

    • You can definitely get a good cutlery set for 1/3 the price. 300 is a stretch but I can't imagine anyone spending the retail price on this 799 on David Jones!

  • many years ago I got an 18 piece set of Villeroy and Bosc Marchesi because I loved the look of the knives.

    • That one looks pretty good!

The knives are very ergonomic but the forks lack grip. Lovely set though.

        • I should have gone with their New Moon collection then. They seem very thick and grippy.

          • @Schrodinger: Not a big issue, you just need to stick them in and make sure the food is secure.
