Hi peeps, long time op newbie poster.

camelcamelcamel showed the price of the tv had dropped today and will now cost $637 delivered. Its not as cheap as before when shipping was $40 euros but i think its still cheaper than aussie prices. let me know what you think. btw i am still kicking myself for not buying it earlier when Gallifrey posted it initially.

Update: The price has dropped again yesterday, it was $637 thanks to sade for the info.

  • Hey Westie, nice find, which DVB tuner should we select?

    • it depends if you want satellite or not, check the previous threads for details, i am not a tech expert so i dont wanna lead you the wrong way. http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/76169

Go for the "ohne DVB-S" option…that will omitt the Satellite tuner and save you some $$$

I love this TV - probably one of the best bargain I got all year. I got the 46" one for $737 delivered…easily outclasses my Samsung UA46ES5500

Even for $600-$700 you won't be able to find a TV locally which has all the same features (3D/100hz etc)

So a good buy depending on your risk adverseness. Be aware it does not receive SBS DTV channels.

I love buying things from Amazon, but a 40" TV from Europe is too much of a risk, and is not fully compatible with the Australian setup (See SBS note above).

I picked up a 40" Toshiba at the Good Guys on Saturday for $699, pretty sure this is the model (3D and has a LAN port). Was ticketed at $899 but made them work hard. FYI it comes with a local 5 year warranty so not sure about importing this. The salesman said because of the 5 year warranty they can't sell the instore warranty, so Toshiba gave them a big discount on the buy price.

wowz sound like you got a better deal, care to share the receipt ?

    • Can you post the model number, and the Good Guys store you got it from? Receipt would be the icing on the cake!

      • It was a purchase for my dad so don't have the exact details handy, but it was the only Toshiba 40" they had (obviously it's at his place), I do however believe I got it at virtually cost. The store was Hecterville.

        • Only 40" Toshiba on Good Guys web site is: 40TL900A for $807. Look very similar. If you got this for $699 then I might go grab one tonight. 5 Years local warranty, not much more I can ask for.

        • Good luck ! Keep the receipt and post it asap ! I am counting on you mate cheers ;0)

        • Looks about right, here's a post from the original thread a few months ago.

Different model number, AUS has UHF 7hz signal, so the local release has a slightly different tuner.

It's not on their main webpage yet but if you check the news releases, they have announced the new 2012 line up. In Oz, the model is known as the XXTL900A. The 46" has a RRP of $1,539

Hi, I posted same link with new price as the price has gone lower now (EUR 50) but the moderator flagged it as duplicate. What would I have done?
